I enjoy these style of games but I've always felt that the franchise behind them or the theme just wasn't for me. Being a huge Zelda fan... I might actually full complete this bad boy! Pretty sweet.
Probably long after they've let sub par Japanese devs demolish their IPs.

Yeah, I'm more concerned about the fact that most of the first entries in their spin-off/anime series are a bit lackluster until they find their footing in sequels. Then again I had fun with the story mode in OP1, which while not executed all that well offered some variety from the usual huge, sprawling maps, so maybe if they try their hand at dungeons...

They look like WO3's graphics with Zelda's color palette. It's hard to find a screenshot that makes this immediately obvious, but as someone that has put 80 hours in to that game, you have to trust me that it looks graphically identical.
I imagine work started on this when WO3's Wii U port finished for launch.

Musou games really know how to appeal to the fans of the series they represent, even if they're not the most complex, graphically capable games.
Gundam, One Piece, and Kamen Rider Musou are all really faithful to the source material and include direct quotes from the show, recreates move-sets, and have a lot of characters, well, after the initial entry. It's gonna be interesting to see who they choose from Zelda which doesn't have too many well-known characters suited for fighting.
I'm guessing Link, Zelda, Ganondorf are shoe-ins, but beyond that I'm not sure who they'll use.
It would have to pass DW4's lifetime sales of 2.2M, which isn't likely given the number of Wii U owners out there.

On the one hand I think the overall art direction is a mess. On the other I think this might be my favorite recent Link design.
Not sure if the screens above me are bullshots or if the stream compression just butchered it.
SMT x Fire Emblem is definitely a smart move. Not sure what to think of this one. Are Tecmo Koei games huge sellers in Japan? They seem kinda irrelevant over here. I'm sure this is a good deal for TK, but do they make anything that would be considered even close to system sellers these days?

I don't think the western publishers will think it's worth their time. You could make the argument that Japanese devs need to support Nintendo (for their own good) than the western ones do. An unsuccessful Nintendo in the west doesn't affect their bottom line as much.
And I'm saying all this as a huge Nintendo fan. I wish western devs gave a crap about Wii U.

LBW has made me start to love Zelda all over again.
This is perfect timing for me.
Only comment was one made to me by a buddy of mine...it would've been cool if they made it like a "Nintendo Land Warriors" and added in other ninty franchises to the mix, like a DW version of smash. That said, I am probably getting this day 1 because I'm a whore for the Warriors series.

Gah. My favourite franchise skinned over one of my least favourite genres. I will have to learn to ignore this game.
I just hope Joe Casual realises it's a spin-off so he doesn't buy it and let it taint Zelda forever. Of course, maybe Joe Casual would love it. I don't know what he likes, and he's Joe Casual.
You should get Warriors Orochi 3, game is boss. It is like the Smash Brothers of musou games.
