Since when does a system that's still in stock on a online store = not selling? They could be having a very large supply, for all we know.

I considered putting a disclaimer or something to indicate I was kidding, but I thought the statement was outlandish enough that it was obvious.

In retrospect I do see some pretty outlandish conclusions people jump to so maybe I should have known it wouldn't be so obvious. Regardless I was kidding for what it's worth.

Ah, my mistake then; I couldn't tell. :)

Looks like Amazon will have another batch coming in on the 27th!

What position has yesterday before the new stock?
Must be really great sales when it's above TLOU or Just Dance Wii.

It seemed bugged out since it was never listed recently. The first PS4 that was listed was 75ish for the BF4 bundle.

I can't remember the correct position but it was below Xbone... like 27th or something like because I needed to change the page to see it (second page for sure).

Launch day PS4 was firmly in the no. 6 spot from like June 16 until just after launch, when for some reason it was delisted from Amazon.

I want to say it's probably a relisting of that but now it's just under a sole PS4 SKU. I honestly think the numbers are still messed up there, but it's better than it being completely absent.

Well it was always showing for me...

It was at good places before launch (preorders)... the first weeks after launch it was ahead Xbone but in the last week Xbone outsold it and now PS4 take the place back.

2013 list... not the hourly one.

Since I have no clue where you are, I'm going to assume you are in Brazil. So my answer is yes. You should buy it locally. The stores there need you.
Sony needs to give us a fair price first.

Importing from Amazon paying all taxes you will spend ~$800 (~R$1900) that is half of the official PS4 price here (~$1700/R$4000).

BTW I bought mine here... official with Sony Brasil warranty... R$2700 but it was a special deal and I couldn't wait.

Is it really Sony's fault?
It is... no imported product ever with all government taxes cost that much.

Wii U official is imported exactly like Sony did with PS4: R$1900... make the maths because the Wii U is not half of the PS4 price in US.

Wow! You actually bought it there? I was being sarcastic! :D

Yeap but at R$2700... still expensive but R$1300 less than the official price.

Edit - Just to add I was checking the numbers in the online sites here...

FNAC - 3 in stock two weeks ago / Sold Out since last week
Sony Store - 31 in stock last week / 21 in stock today

Wow, I'm shocked that they have stock this close to christmas and it isn't sold out in a matter of minutes. Must be a really strong supply chain. Glad I managed to unload all of mine within 2 days of launch.

Bit the bullet and now my PS4 should be arriving here in Australia just after Christmas =D

I can't believe I got the console with expedited shipping and it still costs $60 less than standard retail here.

I wonder how massive this stock is for Amazon.

I'm not one of those, "its not sold out, Sony am doomed" guys, but do you guys think that the PS4 "fever" period is over, at least in terms of supply finally meeting demand.

Honestly I think its great that supply is finally not an issue anymore. I had a number of friends and family members interested, and now they all have one ordered, when they've been looking for weeks!

At this point if the PS4 doesn't go out of stock on Amazon til Dec. NPDs come out, supply can no longer be a valid reason if they sell below Xbone no? As the supply is obviously there now.

Watch as soon as I post this, the stock runs out.

PS4s are still sold out in virtually ever store, finally in the past two days leading into Super Saturday stores like Amazon are starting to get a massive stock surge. It's easily the biggest stock surge I've seen yet from a casual assessment. I simply think this is them finally having enough stock to satisfy a much larger group of people at one time, due to SS. Xbox One's are in stock everywhere, but they are still selling quite well.

This is finally just Sony getting a good stock up for Super Saturday. If after Super Saturday they are not gone, it just means the Holiday Shopping season is finally drawing to a close.

If people thought supplies were going to be limited long into the next year, it was silly since advances in manufacturing at the large scale things like this has been improved exponentially since last gen, which is why XBO and PS4 were both able to put up such record numbers. They are pumping TONS of inventory into the market, an unprecedented amount, both companies.

Given that the store I work at here in Aus is still averaging about 10 extra preorders per week, despite having over 100 total now, I'd say this is going to be a monster of a sales month for Sony

Heh. These threads never fail to be a hotbed of supply versus demand arguments. Honestly, both of these new consoles are selling like fucking crazy. Everyone should be effing ecstatic. More games, more competition, hopefully more deals to entice consumers. Everyone wins. Huzzah.

From what I've heard by insiders on GAF, now that the asian launch is over Sony is diverting their entire stock to western Europe (UK) and the United States just in time for the holidays and shortly thereafter.

But everywhere else is running extremely dry (other parts of Europe, Asia, and Australia), so they will gradually need to divert supplies to these regions, build up stock for the Japanese launch, and so forth.

So they could be tight for a while, but as long as Sony continues full capacity of PS4 production I suspect that they will be readily available in stores by mid to late January.

Most in the US are either asleep or drunk. We really need to wait another 10-12 hours to make any call on demand vs supply.

At least preorders seem to have been all shipped. Not even close here in germany, it is time to divert more units to europe.

I need your advice gaf! What are the chances of the console coming DOA? I want to import one from the US but if it's faulty in anyway i will not be able to send it back meaning my money down the drain. The PS4 stock in my country will arrive mid-late january at the lattest, so what should i do gaf?

This must have been a massive shipment for it to stay in stock for so long. Didn't the previous batch sell like 12k PS4s in a few minutes?

Well Sony seems to agree with a lot of gaffers that the US is really the only place that Microsoft can challenge them. Sucks for ps fans in Europe who don't have to wait though :-(

Honestly I'd just wait. While it's definitely not a red ring situation, there's been enough issues that its really not worth risking 400 instead of waiting a month. As someone who loves his ps4, I'd say there's nothing so good on the system that you can't wait.

It will cost me $540 to import one! Thanks for the advice. I think i will wait.

Super Saturday - this was in sony's gameplan

Turned out it is the BEST SELLING CONSOLE/PORTABLE in 2013 at Amazon.com.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2013/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsar

Just not the best selling hardware overall because the 360's controller is the best selling hardware.

Too early to say. You'll notice that the Xbox One Day One edition is ranked seaparately from the Xbox One standard edition which is found on the next page. I suspect with those two numbers combined, XBO has probably sold more units on Amazon than the PS4 did.

There was also a PS4 Launch Edition sku that was removed completely from Amazon and thus doesn't seem to be counted in the rankings at all.

Wasn't the ps4 launch edition deleted from the listings for some reason?
