WHERE ARE THESE WINNERS

The giveaway post hasn't been updated yet, so either there's something wrong there or ModBot's taken them for himself.

where is everyone getting these Ship keys from? did I miss a bundle?

I had mine in my inventory for years :p

And anybody who gets a copy of the game also gets a second copy to give away... theoretically every steam user could get the game for free...

Nor client nor browser works for me. I wonder if all the keys from yesterday I entered might have done it.

You didn't try the ES standalone did you?

Which reminds me... I'm going to put up the jshackles signal and put some bug reporting stuff here... and I'll just reference it if he misses it:

I tried the new method with the start/stop bat last night:
(1) The batch file will not work if not executed on the drive the OS is installed on (presumably C:\)
(2) Letting start/stop.bat do it's thing, the launcher DID recognize that the host entry was changed -- I have a suggestion here to make that function more reliable, perhaps. I assume you try to read the hosts file and scan for the entries for the redirects... if you are doing it this way, parsing the hosts file, whynot change to an "nslookup" of the two URLs and if both resolve to 172.x addresses, then flip your flag for the hosts file being "good".
(3) For some reason when I moved the installation from drive D:\ to drive C:\ to see if that would correct the issues I was seeing, the service that starts with n would not start. Nothing should have changed to listen on port 80 unless somehow the previously started service was zombied and taking that port.

(1) It's a virus. It gives you a copy for your library and a copy to give when you redeem it.
(2) It's in a bundle over on bundle stars too.

It seems that with the latest Humble Bundle additions I now own 600 games. I don't want to turn into JaseC or Xelios, but this is apparently inevitable at this point.

I can't good Divius! RESPONSIBILITIES!

I know I probably didn't win one.
I never win anything.

You have won my respect fellow GAFfer. And...

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning.

Ooooooh, I won To the Moon :D.

Thank you Rhaknar you awesome new fellow GAFer person you :).

Play it. I know you will like it. It's a little different from a gameplay perspective (almost non-existent) but I'm almost sure you will enjoy it. Took me 4-ish hours to finish it.

Steam thread, so probably old. But I just noticed RPG Maker got steam cards!

Hopefully we get those anime card prices (they are all $1+ at the moment).

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

My ears were burning....

1) thanks for letting me know. I'm still working on bringing this process together in a coherent way, but unfortunately my "real" job has been particularly shitty this week and I haven't had nearly as much time to dedicate to Enhanced Steam as I'd like
2) Good idea on the nslookup. In fact, I think I can query directly from VB.net. I changed the lookup in the host file to a more lax regex match, but it seems the problem is that some people's computers have problems with the ES exe reading the host file at all, possibly due to antivirus software. I'll try this out with nslookup and see if it gets more reliable.
3) The launcher starts the process, but the process currently doesn't stop when the launcher closes, so the issue you had was probably with a zombied process like you suspected. I'm planning on making the check for this more helpful as well: it will look to see if port 80 is responding AND that nginx is running. If port 80 is responding and nginx isn't running, it'll give an error saying the port is already in use by another application. I'll repeat the process for port 443 and rinetd.

Finally, I'm planning on adding an "automatic update" feature to the launcher that will be capable of downloading a new launcher or (more importantly) a new version of the Enhanced Steam javascript files.

However, I'm afraid that most of this probably won't get done until at least this weekend.

Hope you can find a decent solution that fits your budget Rionaa, I was in the very same situation recently. I had to wait for a decent deal and while waiting I had one of those big, yellow-ish big monitor boxes that was so ugly to look at it I almost felt the need to cover it, haha.

Then I was lucky to find that my local store managed to get some decent prices on a Monitor and he was even matching or having a cheaper price that the big stores. Even if I was saving 20€ it was still money so I managed to get a monitor that way. It pays to always check local stores since they are loosing clients with Malls and all that, feels great to help smaller stores to get some business going.
Thanks! Glad to hear you were able to save some money there. My dad spoke to the service guy a while ago, and he said it was the power supply and that he may have it fixed by tomorrow evening.

I'll lose a night of Remember Me. That's not too bad, to be honest; I'll just wait a day or two more before starting MGR.

Whatever you do, make sure to set screen refresh rate to 75Hz or higher (my old CRT supported 85Hz as well).
Seriously, CRT's@60Hz are murderous.
I don't remember what was the highest refresh rate this piece of crap supports at 1024x768. Well, I call it a "piece of crap", but it's been almost 20 years since we have it and it still works. That's more than I can say about the LCD monitor, lol

This is the monster in question. It's a 17" Samsung SyncMaster 5C:

Any chance you can update that batch file to work from a secondary drive? I'll probably hold off until I can put it in the same D:\Program Files (x86) folder that has my Steam install in it instead of installing it on C:\location.

Glad maybe I was able to give you a decent idea for once. Maybe one of these days I'll find the motivation to actually look into implementing something to improve the code directly instead of backseat coding. :)

PSA: If you own the regular To the Moon and attempt to redeem the Humble Bundle Key, it WILL redeem and upgrade you to the soundtrack edition. When I do my next giveaway, it will be short a copy of To the Moon because of this.

Next gen screen flicker. I have an older back up LCD, just in case anything goes wrong with this. Could you not hook it up to your TV?
