.I think some of you think that this is some sort of deceitful behavior, when it's actually just the reality of business and keeping on message.
Why did Phil Harrison say it was just a concept then? Sunset(hope it's more Resistance quality and less Fuse) and Quantum Break look interesting. No interest in a Halo not made by the studio that created it. Destiny will be the continuation of Halo.
.
Wait, but it is deceitful.
- if the game existed, but was cancelled, Phil is being deceitful.
- if the game did not exist, the e3 presentation was deceitful.
Can't be any clearer than that.
Jeez, how gutting. That IP will likely never see the light of day unless they rapidly expand.
How is it that MS always saddles good news with bad? They've got real talent.
They have to expand. But I hope it expands enough so that when teams slowly finish their duty on Gears they can move over to another project. I would have no issue with 4 years dev time between each Gears game.

I don't see how anyone could possibly be disappointed by the black tusk teaser not being a real thing.
I present to you, Microsoft's first part team:
Forza factory.
Halo factory.
Gears factory.
Fable factory.
Kinect Sports factory.
Didn't CBOAT say he saw the black tusk game and that he was blown away by it..?
EDIT:
Found the quote
It's called damage control. It's a better story to say it was a concept instead of "Black Tusk wasn't making it happen fast enough, so we gave them this instead".
New original IP is way more interesting than old shooter ip, hence disappointed. Not that complex really.
It wasn't original though. What the hell was original about that footage?
To be fair to Phil Spencer, it was Don Mattrick that pushed for the E3 reveal of Black Tusk's project.

I'm still waiting for that Ass storm that was supposed to happen Nov 22.

I don't see how anyone could possibly be disappointed by the black tusk teaser not being a real thing. It showed absolutely nothing original and there certainly wasn't enough to the footage that you possibly have been getting hyped about. Sure, the curiosity surrounding the footage may have enticed you somewhat, but the footage in of itself showed next to nothing.

Original as in a new brand and not the fifth instalment in a series which some have started to grow tired of.
New is not always better.
They have the opportunity to take Gears in an awesome direction.
Maybe the IP they were working on was a bland futuristic Splinter Cell knock off. In which case, a new Gears game would be infinitely more interesting.
Because he is lying! It's not hard to understand. If it was always a concept, then he lied at E3. If it was a game, he's lying now. Here's what i don't get. Even if it was just a concept piece, Black Tusk is a game development studio. So why even show this off, why even come to E3 if you're not sporting a game? What's the point?
where did you hear on lionhead new ip?arent they making fable legends?how big is lionhead?Lionhead is working on a new IP, there that's something. But yeah, established IP's that sell well are going to continue be a thing.
You're pretty limited in the direction you can take a 3rd person shooter that uses hulk sized men and women as their protagonists , unless they just pretend 4 games didn't happen and start again.New is not always better.

And now we'll never know! Or at least not for an extremely long time. Maybe the new IP was going to be the new pillar of which Xbox got multiple installments of. Maybe it was going to to dominate and be a game of the generation.
But now we know what we're going to get. Gears of War. Blood, gore, guns. Yay. Maybe they'll take out the big hulking dudes. But there's only so much you can do with an old IP. I don't like Gears down to its core. I very highly doubt I'll like this.

how can it run its course in only 3 games and a spinoff? Not excited by this news at all. I thought Gears Of War had run its course, it's just not a very interesting series to me anymore. Didn't like 3 much and never played Judgement.
I hope their new IP is just on the blackburner. Be very interesting to see if anyone leaves the studio because of being put on Gears development.
Never said better. Both were going to be AAA MS shooter garbage designed to appeal to the male gun fetish 12-20 age bracket.
That doesn't change the fact that 'black tusk working on Gears of War' is less interesting than 'black tusk working on original unannounced IP'.
It would be the same if Kojima said "I'm working on a new AAA unannounced AAA IP." vs "I'm working on Metal Gear Solid 12"; or ND saying "New unannounced original IP in 2014!" vs "Uncharted 2014: Retread".
I agree- but sometimes you want some AAA shootshootbangbang. I can get down with silly dumb AAA fun sometimes.
For example, Sucker Punch hasn't done anything but make Infamous since 2009- and I'm super hyped for SS.

SS doesn't have multiplayer and the hero doesn't use guns, right? So I do have that game on my radar.

but cboat said the animation and sound was amazing.
Eh, fable is dying a bit. I can definitely see lionhead trying to maake their next big thing after legends is released.A new IP or just a new concept video? Black Tusk was doing a "new IP" too
