That makes no sense at all considering they've been good friends for years and Punk has been pushing for a bigger Bryan role for years. If any of this is true and not an angle, his last tweet was "The view never changes" which seems to imply something with part timers and Cena/Orton still being the focus no matter who is more over.



I bet he didn't want to work with Kane because Kane's abs intimidated him.

How far was Punk's contract away from expiring? Several months? He should have at least finished it out and not burnt bridges. But yeah, I too feel like he has accomplished almost everything of note and taking a break from wrestling would be good for his psyche.

Punk knows that if he quits now, he can come back in 4 years and get the big star treatment. Lots of money, few shows, a mania main event and a championship run.

If this is true it's sad the person that brought me back into watching is leaving but he does deserve to rest and the guy honestly looked bored into the situations they were putting him in. I think honestly old timers coming back has made him bitter. First The Rock and now The Animal and I think D.Bryan not getting that push he deserves as well as other people who work there ass off get shafted for old timers to come back and get front and center might have him livid.

It was Mania 29 until Payback. That's only two months.

EDIT: He was also injured by the end of 2012 as well, he couldn't work TLC. Dude needs a break and to be honest I wouldn't mind not seeing him for awhile either.

I wonder if AJ would actually be buried. It was Vince that kept her from being punished for the tribute to the troops thing. He was reported as being a massive fan and supporter of hers.

I'm just speculating on the info out there. Some people are saying it's because Bryan is in the Main Event and Punk isn't, if that's true, I don't think that's cool at all. In an ideal world, it would be Punk vs Bryan for the title as the main event.

I hope this all gets worked out and we get a clear story soon. I'm a big Punk fan.

Punk has needed a long break for a long time so I am not shocked. He should have taken months off after MITB years ago. He should have been gone for 6 months after Mania last year but he came back after 2 PPVs. Dude has been working hurt, without taking enough time away to be 100% for years.



BUT just taking his ball and going home is a dick move though. If he wants to leave he should stay a while longer and put someone over.

Randomly just saying "fuck it, I am out" is probably one of the most disrespectful things a wrestler can ever do. It insults the company, the other wrestlers and the fans.



I would say this is almost OT prime thread worthy. Punk is one of the few people the masses can remember.

That's weird. I don't know why they'd release him if not for backstage shit or wellness violations. There are several other guys that are just as average as him that didn't get WWE in mainstream news for a few days

Will be very curious to see how many fans Punk will take with him when he leaves. As the #2 merchandise mover in the company, this is no small potatoes departure.
AJ's inevitable burial will tank her merchandise numbers as well.

If D.Brine gets screwed over on the road to WrestleMania and with CM Punk gone as well, I suspect there will be many fans jumping ship for other more rewarding, more respectable forms of entertainment.

Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H at Mania... if Bryan wins, he gets added to the main event and it becomes a triple threat.
If he loses, he never challenges for the title again and calls for an end to the Yes Movement.

This shit writes itself.

Triple H needs a match so if its not Bryan or Punk.... who?


Also I think people thinking Punk is pissed because Bryan might be getting a push instead of him are crazy people. If anything he was probably pissed for the exact same reasons we are. Part timer getting the biggest match of the year. Never ending Orton / Cena pushes. Bryan getting tossed under the bus. etc.

Everyone was pissed off after the handling of the Rumble and Punk was already pretty vocal about being upset and wanting a break before that. I think it was probably just the straw that broke the camels backs for him.
