I really like the water in this one, it's got a paint like quality to it that looks luscious.

I think the water in BF3 looks pretty bad most of the time. I think they did a good job in this map making it look painterly, as you said.

Been thinking of doing a second run of Deus Ex, but this time without the yellow filter.

I preferred doing that with ENB + SweetFX

I'd forgotten I even had this game. Wow, so many graphics options to pick from, even after setting everything to preset "ultra" settings you can still go and tweak things a little higher. Just a couple random shots walking around in one my saves from 2011.

Ya, I didn't think it would clean up so well. Turned out that I had the settings pretty low which explains how I remember it looking liking smudged crap when I first played. Changed the settings and it looks pretty good, and very playable, at 1080p or 1440p. Would like to know how to disable the blur when you get hit though...you get hit a lot.

Just an FYI, you can turn the map HUD off in the menu if you feel inclined. It's kind of hard to navigate without it though. It was a nuisance to keep going through the menu to turn it off and on when I wanted to take screen shots but such is the life of a screen shot taker.

The Herb HUD is still present though. Or do you have any idea how to turn that off as well?

I have no interest in doing HUDless artshots. There are already tons of people doing that in the thread, I like to try and show how the games actually look when being played.

I asked this in a different thread but nobody replied. What is the highest single monitor resolution you can achieve with downsampling? I am running 2720x1700 right now but couldn't get 3072x1920 or 4096x2560 to work on my single monitor. So when these 4K screenshots of BF3 are shown for instance, are they coming from a multiple monitor setup? The 7970 support 4K resolutions so is my limitation on the single monitor?

4k is 3840x2160 ( 16:9 ) and 3840x2400 ( 16:10 ) - Quite a few monitors support that downsample resolution. Just a handful that supports it at 60Hz though.

To go any higher than that I would need to use SRWE.

Unfortunately, some games shit themselves when I try to run them at that downsample resolution (Spiderman for example... couldn't go over 2560x1600)

TY. The guide is tailored to Nvidia. As far as I know for AMD you have to use the DownsamplingGUI (not sure if you can do it through CCC. Anyone?). But you can tweek settings in the DownsamplingGUI as well. I'm thinking I just need to lower the refresh rate from what you guys are showing.

What would be really cool is if someone found a way to detach the default camera and fly around in mortal combat. Freeze the action and such. Tempting to get it to screw around in cheat engine.... but I don't think I'd actually want to play it.

It's a UE3 game, so there should be a way to Cheat Engine force playersonly.

yeah I playing at 1440p with 16x CSAA on a single GTX 670 and it's a locked 60. The only negative so far is that the cutscenes in story mode are low-res videos.

The maximum resolution you can use is your highest 60hz resolution. So set the resolution in the options.ini to the 60hz resolution you want.

Now, before you actually launch the game set your desktop resolution to the resolution you input in the .ini file. If you don't it'll just launch in 1920x1080.

After all that, you should be golden.
