So i checked the blockbuster website and could not find this sale mentioned anywhere... am i blind or are they not advertising it much?
You are not blind!

Call your local store in advance, as not every store will have Blu-rays on sale.

I have:

Zack and Miri Make a Porno
500 Days of Summer
Inglorious Basterds
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Slumdog Millionaire

I bought them and never watch them. Anyone wana buy some?

I'll have to keep an eye on this. I have no idea if I have a Blockbuster anywhere near me to be honest but it would definitely be worth the trip. Especially if it's that insane .99 thing.

I still don't see this advertised on the site so I'm guessing this is just in-store? There seemed to be some confusion about that earlier in the thread.

remember me
It's in store only. Every blockbuster should be doing this. They are clearing out their old rental stock.

There is no 99 cent sale this time anywhere, not until they go through another round of store closures.

LOTR Two Towers

Why do you say that? Thought there was one coming on the 4th

FYI

Many of these are rental discs and have no special features, just the movie. Its also been said that they include unskippable adds/previews at start up.

In case that matters to you.

So is this confirmed to be in-store only?
Yes. It was never an online deal, idk where people are getting this from. It was always an in-store sale even the last sale back in May.

I cant even find any stores in my area anymore. I can't believe they're still in business. It's like the Jason Voorhees of video rental stores, it just won't DIE!!!!!

So this is definitely going on at all Blockbusters? Will I need to say anything to the cashier? Are they advertising it in store? I'll have to drive half an hour or so to find a Blockbuster and I don't want to get down there and have them have no idea what I'm talking about.

EDIT: Also, do I need a membership, and can I get two deals and get 10 for $40 if I choose?

All Blockbusters, except for franchise locations, are participating. No need for membership. You do not need to mention anything to the cashier, It will apply the savings automatically. The majority of stores have advertising inside the store mentioning the deal. And yes you can get two deals or as many as you want.

Remember the sale only applies to titles that are priced $9.99 or lower. Some titles have the wrong pricing sticker. Usually those priced $12.99. So if there is a title that you want from the list above and it's priced higher than $9.99, have the cashier price check it for you.

I recommend you call blockbuster first and find out if they are participating.

Yup I stopped in and Got District 9, Sherlock Holmes, 2012, Percy Jackson, and The Reader.

All films that I have not yet seen :D

I almost decided to get 10 but I was struggling to find 10 I wanted to watch and didn't already own.

Damn, I gotta call up the local stores. That's a pretty awesome selection.

(Actually, that's now local store, singular. When I was a kid, there were four Blockbusters, one Hollywood, one Family Video and one independent store within ten minutes of my parents' house... now it's one Blockbuster.)

Edit: Definitely check out The Brothers Bloom if you haven't seen it.

Nope, it's DVD only.

The Road
The International
Scott Pilgrim Versus The World
District 9
Taken

I'll probably never watch any of them. Already seen two of them. Had a pretty crappy selection compared to what some others have posted.

Went to the Blockbuster in Santa Monica, CA and got the following: How to Train Your Dragon, District 9, Zombieland, Get Him to the Greek, and Taken. The only one I'm not thrilled about is Taken, but I couldn't find anything better.
