Boston Approves Permit for White Supremacist Rally on Saturday

Because every single person there is a nazi? Because every single person there specifically want to incitie violence and get into a race war?

I vehemently disagree with every single person who was protesting (re:not including the brave counter protesters) in Charlottesville, but not all of them were Nazi's. Many of them were stupidly protesting the taking down of a monument. Now, what they were protesting is racist, full stop, but they weren't literally there hoping a huge fight would break out.

Besides, a person self identifying as a Nazi, Neo-Nazi, Nazi sympathizer, doesn't automatically mean their goal as an individual is to incite violence. This is why we can't just generalize these protest. We can all agree these people are hateful, horrible people, but we can't assume some idiot 20 something year old ignorantly protesting some vague idea of keeping America white is the same as somebody who is there trying to start a riot.

People are individuals. We have to treat them as such.

You. Are. A. Moron.

These guys are hella messed up peeps, but I think its important not to shut them up and compromise the U.S.s mission to uphold free speech. During a time where the media is very heavily attacked by the president, this is more important than ever. As long as they keep things physical peaceful let the rally persist, and if they turn violent then measure can be put up by local governments to stop them due to precedence.

Someone actually died last weekend eh... remember that?

You think people who side with nazi's deserve anything less than to be deemed a nazi? It's not some different fucking idealogy it's driven by a wish to kill everyone who doesn't look or think like you

My point is, many on here are trying to claim that everybody in Charlotteville protesting were Nazi's. They weren't. Many are also trying to say everybody there and everybody going to Boston wants to incite violence. They don't.

Will the protest in Boston lead to violence? Unless the Boston police department are heros and somehow find a way to stop it, yes. It will. I'm terrified it will.

But we should be having a discussion about our Constitution, but apparently people read Nazi and they no longer want to think rationally.

I've said my peace. I hope my point is clear. The right to peacefully protest is integral to our country. Without it I don't know how the Civil Rights movement would have happened. And we can't just assume that everybody that wants to protest in Boston literally has the end goal of starting a race war.

I know some people don't like to hear it, but Nazi's and KKK members are people. They have protested in the streets of Washington and New York. They have the right to protest. We can't take that away because they are a hateful, horrible group of people. Our country is built on laws not emotion.

I'm sure other posters won't see the simple logic, and I don't want to derail the thread so this will be the last comment I make.

If it wasn't clear, fuck Nazi's. Fuck White Supremacists. Fuck people with hate in their heart for people that are simply different from them.

I can't even wrap my head around this.

If someone identifies as a Nazi, they are identifying with the most violent, hateful, genocidal, murderous and barbaric regime that has ever existed in human history.

LITERALLY the SOLE purpose of a fucking white supremacist rally. Come the hell on.

Yea man those nazis are just an entire group of people, there isn't a precedent for what they want or anything.
Thing is, white supremacist marches have been ruled legal. It's not like there haven't been plenty of more-or-less non-violent KKK marches & gatherings over the years. A couple dozen losers walk down a street in their sheets, normal people stand there and jeer or just ignore them, and that's about it.

I don't know if that's possible these days with these particular racists and in this particular climate (and, like, now? A week after a nazi murdered someone protesting their hate rally?) Charlottesville was a disaster and the nazis definitely showed well armed and hoping for a fight. Fuck, with the open carry laws we could have been looking at a massacre.

Anyone who went to that rally to sincerely protest the statue's removal but didn't leave when they heard "Jews will not replace us" is not a good person. So let's cut the fucking shit, okay?

It is a new tactic people are using to "just as questions".

Let's stop fascism by giving faciists police escorts while they express their desire to ethnically cleanse America until it's a white ethnostate.

The irony in this statement is that you are upset that too much power to decide how to administer the law was placed into an authority and was then used for suppression. Yeah, I don't like that either, that's why I think you need to limit those abilities.

Nah.

Fuck 'em.

They're campaigning to kill black people, to kill jews. To fucking kill me and probably you too.

Fuck them.

Stop defending Nazis.

Why don't they just make hate groups protesting or speeches illegal in the constitution? It seems that simple. Hatred should never be spread

We aren't those other nations though.

I completely support the rational application of laws that limit the speach of racists.

But is that really what you think would happen in America? We have huge swaths of our population and people in power that would DEMAND BLM be labeled a racist org, and they'd have the support of most Police forces too. Hell our own president pretty much glorified that very idea, which is why we are all having this conversation.

No. Too many white supremacist, white moderates, and morons that don't vote live in America to make change for hate as they are perfectly fine with it, and are too stupid to realize what's up.

This is literally what this election was about. Motherfuckers wrote in harambe. Or, busted out of the election. All of that contributed to this rise in nazis.

Other nations being rational, is just highlighting that it's not some slippery slope. That's what I was responding to.

There isn't a debate to be had. A voting demographic of this country is cool with allowing nazis.

Man did you watch the Vice video? They were chanting racist slogans in unison.

Anyone still sticking around to make themselves a part of that "protest" do not deserve the benefit of any doubts.

Got to maintain that delusional facade of "order" even though Nazis are killing people in the streets.

If you're a good person. You don't participate in a nazi rally.

It's not a hard concept.

And don't try to cover up your nazi sympathizing ass posts with "oh yeah I totally hate nazis!!!!" Anyone at that rally is pondscum.

Yeah I agree; it's not even really a slippery slope argument. The right has made it clear that they would love to limit the free speach of almost everyone on the left.

The slope isn't slippery, we are allready at the bottom of the hill.

The people who weren't literal Nazis thought it was okay to hang out with Nazis and the KKK. That makes them just as bad.

Being a Nazi sympathiser is a poor look. These people are a disease and should be treated as such. No one marching in these rallies is anything but a white supremacist. If you think otherwise you are wrong. And dont be daft, the very point of these rallies is to incite violence. What do you think the end goal is of a grouo that wants to ethnically cleanse the country? Jesus fucking christ, give your head a shake.

You keep trying to humanize people who purposely dehumanize and incite violence against anyone who isn't white. Anyone who was participating in the "protest" (nazi rally) at Charlotteville is a nazi. You associate with nazis, you are a nazi.

You'd think neo nazis killing a woman and lynching a man on video would be enough to wake some people up but guess not

You are not coming across as level headed, fam.

So what you want is for somebody who is a bad person to not have the right to protest, right? Should a person who went to prison for armed robbery be disallowed to protest the right to gun ownership? Should a person convicted of tax fraud not be allowed to protest tax reform?

I get that it doesn't get much worse than Nazi's and White Supremacist. But they are people. They have a right to peaceful protest. If we take that right from them, then that part of the constitution then means nothing. It then morphs into a document that protects the rights of people we like and not humans flatly.

It's not even a difficult concept to grasp, fam.

The condescending fams really make you look like the smart one

This is immensely misguided. People are individuals, yes. People in groups lose their individuality,

Read up on social facilitation.

Their very belief and ideology is that non-whites are sub-human and should not be allowed any privileges basic, human or civil.

You're trying to appeal to the humanity to someone who hates you simply because you exist and nothing more.

They want your Mexican ass dead.

They rally to gain support for that goal, to show numbers. There are local branches all over the world with this same goal. With no media coverage, they will still be working to make sure you're dead as long as all other minorities in the nation. Ignoring people with the means and political power, who are being endorsed by the president is nothing to just ignore and hope good thoughts about.

White supremacists need to be beaten down anytime they pipe up. We've been doing this since forever. They don't just go away if you don't look at them.

Amen. How many fucking innocent people are going to die before people realize there is genuinely no room at all you can give this ideology, or else it will resume growing like cancer. Death toll was already well into the millions before this girl died on our soil. And this generation of it is worse than ever, because these are people who are not ignorant to its history and machinations, are not ignorant to the cost, and still choose it.

Free speech is an important, core, fundamental right that any modern country should protect at all costs.

I'll defend your right to be a Nazi. In the comfort of your own head, you can think and feel whatever you want. In the comfort of your own home, you can paint as many swastikas and hang as many portraits of Hitler as you want. That's your right.

But you can't have a Nazi rally. You can't take to the streets, to a public forum, and openly support white supremacy. In the past week these "free speech" organizations have lost the benefit of the doubt. They had their chance - fair is fair - and they literally killed a person.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

Seriously this. Don't fucking march with Nazi's if you dont want to be called one. If you at that rally you support that shit. Point blank. You dont get to ala carte Nazism.

ForsakenLotus is on some naive trip about that rally, but he was responding to someone elses condescending "fams."

The poster he was responding two used it once and not in a condescending manner.

Lotus bookended his with the two clearly condescending ones.

Don't insult my intelligence please.
