Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 Supports OCULUS RIFT

Any excitement over Rift is really pathetic. It has exactly 0% of possible good use. It's a freaking joke and will just be another DOA tech.

oh lawd

It might be a niche product, but it's a goddamn game changer for the vast majority of people who have tried it.

I'd be curious to try it. I get what ppl are saying on both sides, but if Occulus can bring out more in other genre, then sure why not, I guess.

Though if diversifying the range of experiences is a goal, there's a lot of things native first person still has to offer. Some Legend of Grimrock 2 would be nice.

You must not have stereo vision, or a working neck. Coz this ain't the first time you've dropped into a VR/OR thread and made your unqualified opinion known.

Like... seriously why you so salty on VR man? :p

Except that it will never take off. VR is a farce, and Occulus Rift is a (almost) feel good story that will NEVER amount to anything.

While I gave motion control a try a time or two, it is definitely what kept me from buying a Revolution ever, and I would literally quit current- and next-gen gaming before I accepted it as a viable option.

I would love to see a poll for this question. If it was less than 90% no, I would be shocked.

Well, first off, it won't take off. It's DOA, thank God. But, to answer the "if," the only use it has is porn and FPS. Porn is already fine and who has use for FPSers?

Nobody should support the Rift. It's a joke and an embarrassment to the industry. This garbage never works off and is a flash in the pan.

In a related way, Sony needs to avoid the same bullshit like the plague.

The problem with that is your FOV is extremely narrow. In GOW for example, not seeing what/who's behind and beside you wouldn't make for a very good game.

Oh definitely, I'm sure it would be very difficult to put together. Especially camera movements and quick turn systems. It's something that would me made much more fluid with the rift but no developer would create a big budget game just for it of course.

The sequence I mention was very much on rails but it just excited me for the possibility of a game like GoW from a first person perspective. I love Condemned(mention it because of the FPS Brawler) but it still felt a bit clunky.

Isn't Carmella only in the first game? Being that the camera is static, OR might work really well for it.

BTW, I have some ideas for how to implement the camera for a third person game using OR. Mario 64 is a good example, but I have some ideas of how to take it a step beyond that. I'm not sure where to post it, but at least for one series (particularly an Uncharted/Tomb Raider type game) I think it would be really cool.

I really hope they keep that in the release version, even if it's just a command line switch.

You must understand, his family died in a VR-related incident.
