how does the committee have a team ranked 3 then drop them 3 spots for winning. You shouldn't have had them at 3 then!!

i just hope osu shows up against bama

Probably not, but they ended up doing exactly what they said they'd do all year: heavily weighing the status of conference champion.

Good stuff. No matter how this all shakes down in the end I really hope Meyer and his staff get some real credit for playing so well with fate basically stacked against us from the start.

So do you think things would have been different if TCU or Baylor won the big 12 outright?

I don't. It would have made for a worse resume for the other team if one had two losses.

TCU/Baylor got screwed out of namesake alone.

As much of a cluster as this is, can you imagine if this were last year. Given that Florida State is #3 would they have really excluded the only undefeated and defending national champion from the championship game? Oregon for sure would've been bumped, right?

As a Okie State Alum, all I have to say is Bowlsby is a dumbfuck, plain and simple. One True Champion is a stupid slogan that he backtracked on.

Good Job, No championship game just cost you a playoff spot, maybe next year you can watch it happen again. Should have taken Louisville and someone else (BYU) when you had the chance.

Personally I think Alabama will wreck Ohio State, but maybe Urban will pull off a miracle.

This interview with the committee chairman is amazing.

Q: How did the Big 12's lack of a conference championship game affect their chances?

A: Ohio State.

What a joke. Let's bump a team up to #3 one week for no apparent reason, and then drop them all the way to #6 for no apparent reason too. Was there any discussion during this committee or was it everybody inserting their fingers in their ears and closing their eyes when they voted?

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
There are absolutely zero legitimate reasons this shouldn't be an 8-team playoff with the five power conference champions and 3 at-large bids.
