This is a real tragic story, especially for the fans of the series. We fight three games for the glory of this men. Helping him get revenge on the dead of his mentor, save his friends from the dead penal several times and even fight the evil spirits of his past. But in the end he lost his job and good reputation, because of one incident in the past. Many player really did find it fair, but that's the point of the tragic. We all now that he doesn't deserve it and he just tried to help his client as always. That's why we, as Apollo Justice, have to find out the true and save Phoenix.
A great emotional way to motivate the player.

Psycho Mantis had a pretty sad life, judging by the story of his childhood that he shares with Snake as he's dying.
Also, Heather from Silent Hill 3 had it pretty bad. Not only did she have to live through the hellish events of that game, but she came out of it all an orphan.

Describe something good about James. We feel sorry for him at the beginning because his wife died, but everything else we learn about him shows us that our initial sympathy is undeserved. His wife's illness exposes the kind of person he is long before she dies.
Harry was just a loving father who raised the same girl twice and got murdered for it. All he ever did wrong was drive a car near Silent Hill.

-He/She is just a huge tag along with basically no story at all in the game. I know that he/she was supposed to be your online character but they could have at least added some generic voice or lines to it. Every time the other characters are interacting your character seems to always be in the background watching everyone else talk.
