Link? Can't find this anywhere.
Also, Children's Crusade #9 is... there. Definitely not worth the wait, and for all Marvel was hyping it as a key AvX lead-in, all the relevant points were revealed by the AvX #0 previews and various interviews.
Yeah, that was very... meh. Too bad as I adored the orignal run of Young Avengers. Does anyone know if there are plans for another ongoing or for Heinberg?
After this series, he's lost all goodwill he accumulated from the original series. Can they finally give this team to another writer? Actually, he mostly gutted it and/or turned the rest into cheap parodies of their old selves so let's put them to rest forever.

oh damn the new young avengers series sucked? Allan Heinberg was the man back in 2004. The O.C., Young Avengers, and that JLA arc he did with Geoff were all top notch.
I wouldn't say it sucked, but the result was definitely not worth the sheer amount of time it took to bring back the original creative team and have them do 9 issues.oh damn the new young avengers series sucked?
Anyone else read the first issue of Manhattan Projects?
I have to admit to being a bit disappointed. The art is okay, but the big twist at the end of the first chapter wasn't really to my taste.Don't Image have another comic out about multiple versions of the same central character getting killed off? This issue also threw so much "crazy" at us - Japanese war robots controlled by "monks", Einstein staring at a Zohar Modifier out of Xenogears - when I was expecting something a bit slower and more thoughtful, that it didn't really meet my expectations.
Can anyone recommend me a comic/graphic novel with a great deep story?
Ooh, do it Satchy! They'll be worth five British pounds if all goes according to plan! >Do you accept Bison Dollars?

Preacher.
Just do it!
Children's Crusade will at least read somewhat better in collected form, so it's a good thing that the hardcover is being rushed out at the end of the month.

Guys, I would buy the captain marvel book we just created in this thread.
What I'm wondering is, if he's name is Shazam now, how the fuck is that gonna work?
*Shazam saves man from falling out of a building, flies off*
"Wow man thanks for saving me back there! What's your name?"
"ShazamOHSHIT" *lightning bolt, transforms into little kid*
Do you have more detail on what you are looking for?
Deep as in philosophical, or deep as in dense/complex?
So...what's with the blatant sexualisation of the [drawing of] female characters in comics? I appreciate the audience is largely male and so you want to have attractive women in the art, but this goes way beyond 'attractive'.
Another question/complaint in the art style is the depiction of the physiques (both genders) in that they don't seem to be wearing any clothes at all but rather had their bodies merely painted with differing colours to give the illusion of an outfit; why so skin tight? They weren't always like this. What changed?
1) that would require knowing how to draw real women
2) that would require knowing how to draw clothes

I have a hard time believing the reason is because they simply don't know how to draw it right

I thought there were some real heartfelt moments in the last issue. It worked for me.
Damn so it is too off the wall? Disappointing.
Also what's this shit aboot Colossus being in al the AvX VS fights. We pay to see Avengers vs X Men, every brah on this earth never had a dream of him facing ben grimm or red hulk. we want to see gambit vs. spiderman, cap vs magneto and squirrel girl vs her father.
The best we've got is Namor, and even Marvel has toned it down in the past few years:
He's still a frisky bastard, but he's in Puritan garb these days. The scaly speedo is a classic!
Not to mention I think he's just the only male character to really flaunt his wares. You could maybe cite that ponce Gambit, but he's covered head to toe in horrible 90's fashion.
What are the best Wolverine comics/graphic novels to get into? Always been a fan of the guy but haven't followed his development
i wish Marcus To was going to Birds of Prey instead of Batwing
then have Travel Foreman go to Batwing instead of Birds of Prey
i just want Black Canary's hair to be GAWJUS and Marcus knows how to make it happen
Overhyped crap inside of overhyped crap. Apple + Morrison fanboys = Hipster Heaven

If his name is going to be Shazam, what is the wizard's name going to be? No more wizard? I know Batson took over the role temporarily but that sucked!

Namor has a couple of awesome conversations with Hope in Uncanny X-men.
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/03/07/will-someone-please-give-hope-and-namor-their-own-series/
Lol, did you read Uncanny this week? Namor will still fuck anything!
Have a total hard on for Ennis at the mo. Well for a while now actually. So, so looking forward to the next Boys.
But while I'm waiting for that, anyone got any similar anti-superhero comic recommendations?
