YES MIYAZAKI. FUCK ME UP.
Sad that this is apparently going to be the last one though.
I'm fine with this
as long as they announce Demon's Souls 2/remaster or Bloodborne 2 this year

I'm glad to see they're going back to more distinctly characterizing the world's figureheads in the actual story, instead of the random bosses that were supposed to be "lords" in the 2nd game.
Maybe this will bode well for having an actually cohesive and coherent lore again.
Are there any Lore videos that are particularly good?
Will ENB make the guide?
no, and i'm pretty happy. He's gonna do a blind let's play. I will love it.
He's avoiding all kinds of spoilers right now. His blind playthrough is going to be glorious and legendary!no, and i'm pretty happy. He's gonna do a blind let's play. I will love it.
There were many, many cicles and we already know at least 6 of them, my count:
1- Gwin
2- Your character in DS1(optional)
3- Your character in DS2(optional)
4- Aldritc
5- Farron's
6- Yhorm the Giant
DSII hints us that between DS1 and DS2 there were severall and cicles, and the we don't how much time has passed since DS2 ending, so there is probably a lot more.
I don't want to be that guy but I find weird how people criticized DS2 lore to having callbacks and nods to DS1 yet everyone is clamoring the return of Gwyn, the serpents, Andre or Firelink Shrine on DS3.
Not that I'm complaining, I do like that.
People saying the Giant guy is a Giant from Dark Souls 2 need their eyes checked.
He's wearing chainmail armor with a crown. Thats not his face that has a hole in it, you just cant see it clearly. And even if you could it looks to be completely charred black.
So they say that this is the land where the Lords of Cinder come together and show the Anor Londo arches. Seems to me this is at least where Lordran was, we dont know for sure about Drangleic because of obvious reasons.
The Abyss Watchers seems like a call back to the covenant Artorias made with the Abyss to be able to traverse it.
Also I wonder which LOC was supposed to come out of the grave next to firelink in the cinematic? Is it the sludge guy?
Another thing. There's 4 empty thrones according to some leaked gameplay from last week, yet the opening cinematic shows 3 bosses...hmmm
I hope the Chosen Undead shows up in some capacity, would be incredible.
JUST MAKE A BERSERK GAME ALREADY
Anyone else expects the cinematic to be the same in the game, except?Gwyn rises from one of the graves as well
I would lose my shit.

Did I miss a stealth delay somewhere? I thought it was late march.
late march in japan only (ps4 and xbone only)
imported then, souls games have historically been good for imports.

I am so hyped. I think I will import the JP version. What's the best/fastest website to pre-order the JP version and get it soon after launch?
nippon-yasan is pretty slow, maybe solarisjapan or ninnin
Am I right in thinking by using a VPN on Steam, I'll be able to play the game in March?
with credit card when it shipsNin-Nin looks good, actually. Do you know if they charge when it ships or when you pre-order?
http://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/content/6-faq#payment. Moreover, your card is only charged at the time your order is dispatched - This is the most practical and cheapest payment method!
Oh, DragonShoggoth.
Amazing opening. Praying for that PC version to be the same release day as the console version.
no. PC version is always april.

The trailer cuts to the boxarts so abrubtly I have no doubt there's more to it but they don't want to spoil anything else.

Kind of makes me want a Dark Souls movie... however the fuck that would work.
Where does this game take place in the "timeline"? (do we even know a timeline of the games)
They were not random at all. They were cursed to repeat their mistakes over and over again, that's why they have similar traits and in some cases even their stories were almost the same, that's how the world is in DS2. The devs even mentioned in an interview that the world of DS2 was unable to move on. You may not like what they did, but it wasn't random.
There are tons of lore videos. I'd recommend DaveControl's and Silvermoint's.
external source:
Yes indeed. It is called Lothric. Where the transitory lands of the lords of cinder converge. In venturing north the pilgrims discover the truth of the old words. The fire fades and the lords go without thrones. When the link of fire is threatened the bell tolls unearthing the old lords of cinder from their graves. Uldritch, Saint of the Deep. Farron's Undead Legion, The Abyss Watchers. And the reclusive lord of the profaned capital, Hyuong The Giant. Only in truth, the lords will abandon their thrones, and the unkindled will rise. Namless acursed undead, unfit even to be cinder. And so it is that ash seeketh embers.
Maybe it's the way she says it but I love that line so much.
Aww so wait, PC version is behind console version again? Is there a box for PC version?
I think all platforms in regions outside of Japan are 4/12. Game releases in JP on 3/24, not sure about JP PC release.
