okay.
My best wishes to you all,
David Hayter

Everybody talks a big game here. Not gonna buy it, yadda, yadda, yadda. We'll see who's there day one.
So,
So he was told that he wouldn't be needed.
And then he goes on the Twitter guilt trip... Stay classy Hayter.
I dunno, I think the fact that Hayter posted this on April 1st lends more credence to it being a prank.
Yeah, Hayter should stay classy. Not the people who dumped him from the franchise for no good reason (and before you start spraying shit from your mouth, no, his later performances weren't terrible. Not as good as MGS1, sure, but not terrible).
I'd be legitimately shocked if it were a prank. People are just in denial at this point.
His later performances weren't anywhere close to his original performance. Doesn't matter if you're talking MGS2, 3, 4 or TTS. None were as good as the original. He needs to hang up his cleats like a retiring athlete.

1. He wasn't dumped. He wasn't working full time or with a contract for all MGS games.
2. It is my opinion that he was terrible post MGS1, you can call it shit or all you want, but it is not a single opinion but one that very much shared by plenty of people here.
3. Stay classy Hayter.
If they don't want you back, you say thank you for the opportunity and move on. You don't go public trying to get a mob of people to change people's minds.
This is exactly why I think this is all just a ruse. Hayter's normally classier than that, and if he actually didn't get brought back for the role I'd assume they'd actually give him a reason why given that he's been a part of the franchise for 15 years.
If it is a ruse (i doubt it, but still possible) I would like the option to play with the JP track.

3) So because he was trying to persuade Konami to give him the role, that automatically makes him an asshole? Wow. Guess what? People get attached to things. He played the main character(s) in this series for so long. You're really trying to tell me you'd just accept it so readily if you were in his shoes? I doubt it.
I dunno, this seems right up the alley of some clever bullcrap Kojima would try and pull though.
I'm not exactly sure how Hayter isn't staying classy. He isn't calling Kojima or Konami a bunch of cunts for robbing him of the role that HE helped define. And he wouldn't be wrong in calling them out one their shit either.
Oh come on, the guy's practically throwing a hissy fit. It's a matter of professionalism.
All the more reason to think it might be a ruse though I think. I wouldn't expect someone as experienced in the industry as he is to act this way over something like this.

You've conditioned to not believe anything anymore, even with Kojima himself saying Hayter is not voicing Snake/Boss this time, even when Hayter said he is not voicing Boss/Snake and he wasn't even asked to do it.
What's so clever about lying about Hayter replacing his role? so Kojima is going to announce in afew months that Hayter is back? or he just hired Keifer Sutherland to voice the trailers but when we plays the game The Bosse's voice is going to be Hayter's and we all are goning to say:WOW!!! Kojima you clever bastard!!!!! you tricked us once again!!!!! you devil!!!
Denial, you are in it.

Exactly. He even says in his goodbye letter "Its Kojimas decision. ANd thats fair"
Clearly he has no class...

The Anti-Hayter brigade is getting retarded more than anything. I don't see how bringing someone who doesn't have any sort of attachment to the series would bring anything to the role. It would be just another paycheck to them. Nothing else.
Maybe kojima didn't like how Snake was being voiced
Yes or no question - Did Kojima not just make up a fake development studio and walk out on stage in a fake bandage mask all just to pimp a game that would have gotten hype anyway if he just announced it as Metal Gear Solid V? What's so clever about that?
If it's all a ruse, it's just for some silly PR to keep people talking about the game.
I'm not in denial, I'm just accepting that Kojima has a history of pulling shit like this.
You think being* passive aggressive in public about a decision that isn't yours to make is staying classy? It's being childish is what it is.
Like a said, I don't think anything can convince you that Hayter is not returning, I would love to have him back as well, but for me, Hayter's tweets, and the interview with Kojima are in a whole different game than just playing tricks and making something up just for hype and PR stunt.
I dunno, if Kojima had an issue with Hayter's version of Snake I think he would have been let go a lot sooner than now.
DID YOU RIKE IT?!?!
Even though mgs1 was his best performance, I still think David hayter is one of the best, if not the best, video game voice actors around. Which honestly isn't saying much because I think they're all weak.
