Opening up day one isn't the best idea ever.

We're ramping up! Alpha, then Beta, and Beta will be orders of magnitude bigger in terms of population.

Exactly. the Beta will be the real stress test. That's when they'll know how their server set up will handle large numbers.

I'd love hearing random chatter in free roam. If I heard a lot of random yelling and junk I can know there's a ?? enemy around or something, haha.

Just hit level 8 on my titan. Punching things continues to be the best. I just wandered around in free roam the whole time, did a few missions. Ran into an event that was impossible to complete by myself, that's something that may need to be looked at. I've made it my goal to try to find something new in free roam every time I log in, something that's fairly easy to do. The area is pretty big with lots of tunnels and buildings connecting things.

My only main complaint right now is some of the gun sound effects, I'd like for them to have a bit more punch to them. Mainly for the auto rifles, sniper and shotguns sound just fine.

Really? I think they're pretty good. Hell they're a ton beefier then pre-alpha's effect were.

Yes, if you get an email with an alpha code open up a web browser and go to NeoGaf.com and in this thread click the "Post Reply" button then enter your code in the text box. Then click Submit Reply and we should be good to go.

To me, they do. But as been said many times before, you can still be pretty accurate firing from the hip.

NDA was lifted yesterday at 3pm EST. If you get the Alpha you can show as much of it off as you can.

The Alpha is not the full game. Just a selected area.

Yes everyone can. Embargo lifted at 12PM PST yesterday. No alpha is but a very very very very small sliver of the game.

Oh no, I fust realized crouch-jumping in this game will feel terrible. All the available control schemes have crouch mapped to Circle, except one that has it mapped to RS I think. Ew.

See Bungie, I undestand you really like the COD control scheme, but there's no reason no to include at least some of the classic Halo control schemes, like Bumper Jumper, Recon, etc.

The good thing is that there's still time to include them, so please Bungie, add them as an option. Please.
