so, i got two beta codes for a single x1 order on amazon.... ?
Finally got time to swing by Gamestop and preorder there. B.net code redeemed:
I pre-ordered the PS4 version. I'm still not 100% getting that platform, but it's the one I'm leaning toward. So having the Destiny beta code be platform agnostic for now is pretty great.
Hype train status: boarded.

There's a PS4 beta code hidden somewhere in this post. Hint it's not after this message.
code is universal btw. we'll get to decide what platform we want the beta for.
Psh, like you'd want it for anything other than the lead platform. =)
I have to choose between Infamous or Destiny Q1 2014. Decisions decisions.
Got an extra beta code if anyone needs it
Your a Heat fan right? I got you!
Submitting the code into Bungie.net will reserve your spot. Once the beta releases, you'll be able to choose the platform you want to play on:lol I can't believe that actually worked in my favor for once. Thanks man, appreciate it.
Although I should ask if this is a PS4 code?

I have this pre-ordered for PS4 but I've never been a beta type of guy. I always just wait for the game to be released so I can hope in 100% fresh. If I end up getting a code I'll give it to someone here.
Well they have only shown it off on PS4 thus far and people are assuming that it will look better, power and all.Is there a lead or are all the version from the ground up?
Has Bungie said at all what the exclusive content will be on the PS4?
While that's probably true, you have no hard evidence of it. Assuming the next-gen versions will be identical is also silly because we know the PS4 has objective advantages over Xbox One, such as the GDDR RAM, so it will likely perform better on PS4 in tangible ways. They haven't been necessarily exclusive since 2007, we know that Destiny was in development prior to ODST going gold, and they openly advertised for PS3 developers years ago.
Bungie has been so strongly supporting the PlayStation version, it feels like it's more than just a business agreement. This isn't hard to imagine with the abuses Microsoft made of the Halo franchise and its fans against Bungie's will.
Bungie could not be telegraphing the PS4 release being the definitive version more.
All of those things are stored on Bungie.net and we have actual details. They announced exclusive PS4 content all the way back on February 20th. It just seems to me that you're being purposely being dense because you still want to buy an Xbox One.

Destiny releases in the spring, which probably means April-June. The beta will be before, so you really just need to decide whether to play the Beta.
So I preordered and cancelled for the code, pretty bad form, but they should have allowed preorders on PSN at the same time.
I doubt they're limited. Amazon have added it to their box art for the game. But they've specifically said that at this time, it's only about physical pre-orders. Just sucks because there's one less beta code for someone wherever you pre-ordered from.

I used Amazon, yeah. Who knows, there's always a chance I will actually buy it from Amazon eventually, if it's like £60 on PSN, and £35 on Amazon, I'm not paying the extra just for the convenience of having it on the HDD.I meant in the sense, like if you went to a certain Gamestop store that only got like 50 codes for pre-orders. I'm pretty sure they'll get more if needed, doesn't seem like they'd be hurting anytime soon either. So no big deal was only curious.
Hopefully there's an open beta.
I think this is kind of bullshit because Destiny is the type of game I would just go digital with but there's no way to get into the beta without doing a pre order for a physical version is there? Gonna go preorder from Gamestop tomorrow and hope they have codes available.

is this game going to be f2p with microtransactions or require subscription?

Okay, when they talk about rewarding players for previous games, there is a 99.99% chance that will be executed through Bungie.net data. They're not going to write custom game code to read a 360 profile and grab offline achievements to unlock shit, mostly because that's easily spoofed. I mean, it's a real, out-of-the-blue, fucking long-shot, and you know you're stretching to the max to cite it as some kind of counterpoint. If I'm being abrasive, it's because you, being an active and knowledgeable community member, should know better, and when you write a piece of wild speculation about Staten's departure with a horribly negative slant and outright falsehoods, me being abrasive is me being nice. Not everyone links to Bungie.net, nor are achievements online only. There's probably lots of people who have campaign achievements without ever having played multiplayer. Plus, Bungie isn't even in charge of Halo and hasn't been for at least 2 years now. Anyone who's bought Reach or 3 now, won't ever have stats on Bungie.net, but with your XBL profile, since it's transferable to next gen Xbox One as well, they can just see your gamertag/past games and achievements.
If I'm being dense, you're just acting fanboyish. I get it, you like Bungie, I like them too. But we know next to nothing about any of the versions, aside from a quip on stage when they first showed it months ago saying PlayStation 4 will get exclusive content. Is it maps? Missions? Guns? Characters? Does Xbox One get its own content? Can you tell me? No. So wtf man. Take it easy. No need to be abrasive, just like you were when I questioned why Staten would leave Bungie.
Destiny started direct development in 2009, pretty sure 360 was the lead platform for many years before next gen devkits came around and they refocused on ps4.
