And instead of the typical changes and retellings of Once Upon A Time its basically a direct continuation of the movie.

So far they haven't been made much darker and grittier. Cinderella is pretty much the same and Maleficent really isn't that much darker than Sleeping Beauty was in retrospect.

The thing is if they get all Chinese actors for the live-action characters, they're gonna want a big star. The biggest African American star right now is Kevin Hart, who would probably be up for this. A bit cynical of me, but I think it's likely.
