Still the best DKC imo. When it came out I initially preferred the original, but DKC2 grew on me. Retro should be commended for coming in striking distance though, Returns and Tropical Freeze manage to scratch at its greatness for different reasons, but overall Rare's second effort feels the most comprehensive, balanced, a cohesive of the (banana) bunch.

And this thread makes me feel as old as Cranky Kong...
