Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Comes to PC This January

Okay, my bro isn't convinced about this game. We both love Dark Souls though. If I had one gif or vid to show him why we are buying it, what would it be?

And... this (but imagine it without a shitty framerate):

And a song (this plays whenever a boss is low on health and you're about to win):

I'm listening to the soundtrack and it just makes me even more impatient for this.

Dragon's Dogma really made you feel like you were doing adventure and on a journey of discovery.

I will never forget the journey to Bluemoon Tower. Every part of it felt so incredibly epic and the payoff at the end was perfect.

Man I really hope this comes out for ps4, my laptop isnt good enough to run this as 60fps probably not even a solid 30. Top 10 for last gen, probably one of my favorite of all time games

I doubt they won't port it to PS4/Xbone at some point. Its just not really a newsworthy thing as it'll almost certainly be a digital only release.

This is noteworthy though as its never been released on PC at all before now.

This gif always gets me. Really excited to try the class again in better frame rate.

It's the traditional "capcom hitstop" that gives the game this visceral impact. Feels so good when crank dat shit up on on an enemy and let it rip.

Glad PC gamers get to finally play this game now. Too bad we not getting DDO though eh?

I dropped Capcom Asia a mail asking if they will bring it over to Asia. I hate digital region locking.

What are the chances that Capcom releases this on somewhere other than Steam?

whoa! I'm expecting this to be better since it's on PC. PS3 edition was like "meh" in terms of the framerate and graphics.

Capcom expanding its market.

I live in Indonesia. All of Capcom games (except Lost Planet 2 due to GFWL) are available here on Steam.

I have tried 4, count it, 4 separate times to get into this game and I just can't. I don't know why but it never clicked for me ever.

Somewhat annoying because it's apparently a great game that I am just incapable of connecting with. Which is real odd cause it seems like a type of game I'd be all about.

Maybe not garbage performance will help you appreciate it more?

I've committed a felony and have yet to sit down and play this despite owning it on my 360. At this rate though, guess I can double dip at launch price and jam out on my PC rig instead?

The game definitely has a threshold before it really opens up and becomes enjoyable. I didn't really enjoy it too much to begin with, but for some reason I kept going and now it's one of my favorite games ever.

Much of the game's better parts happen at a certain point. I'd say once you get out of the cave with the trolls is when things start ramping up. And DD requires the player to engage in some old-school mentalities of figuring things out by dicking around.

Like, most people didn't even see the notice board in the first area, which could help out immensely when buying starting gear and taking on the trolls.

Yes, definitely wait. Dragon's Dogma was a painful play three years ago, by today's standards even worse. It's one of the greatest accomplishments in modern gaming held back by poor frame rate. Wait a few more months, and experience this masterpiece as was intended.

Dear fellow Arisens -

Tons of folks asked whether the upcoming PC port will have a capped frame rate. With DDDA being an MT Framework-based game, you can rest assured it'll have the usual graphics options found in other Capcom PC titles.

Stay tuned as we'll have more details to share regarding tech specs and features in the coming weeks/months.

Just noticed this so a belated question. DMC4 (for example) supported various screen resolutions and aspect ratios while DMC4 SE can only output 16:9 image with letterboxing. Will DD will function like DMC4 SE?
And finally, is it safe to assume all current and future ports will be handled by external studios?

Yo bros, this mother fucker asked for a dragons dogma gif to convince his bro, and there is no god damn gif of somebody bringing a griffin to the ground?

What have you tried?

For me the game didn't click until I spent a lot of time in the tutorial/prologue fighting by myself without any pawns. With pawns that tutorial is pretty frantic and over too quickly to get a handle on the combat. On your own you've got time to experiment and see how enemies will react to all of your moves.

Well not every game is for everyone, even great games, lots of people didn't like demon/dark souls either and so on.

I think the game starts kinda slow, but gets quite a lot better once you reach hmm... Gran Soren? Is that the name of the city? I haven't played in so many years, anyway once you're done with the shitty slow escort and enter the big city so you can change your class to advanced stuff, take a bunch of sidequest, talk with a bunch of characters, and then really hit the open ended world.

Before that the story is fairly limiting and linear, you can choose to do some sidequests before you get there(and some are limited to be done before you go to gran soren iirc) but once you get there, you have multiple paths for the main story and you can go almost everywhere, felt great.

SG here. We don't have bionic commando but we do have LP2.

You're telling me you can access the steam page for DD:DA right now?
It's telling me that it's not available here.

Man...This sucks. I hope they will see it to Singaporeans too. Don't know why Japanese publishers like to region lock certain games.

However much I liked the intro song to Dark Arisen I still consider it a crime removing "Into Free" by the B'z.

Hopefully it will re-appear somehow in the PC version. Someone go bug Capcom on twitter or something!

Probably won't have it due to licensing or whatever, but it'll most likely be easy to replace the file anyway so shouldn't be an issue.
