Just like DYRL, side characters are basically nonexistent. Ranka's natto commercial is...it's definitely a thing. I'll get back to that sometime. iSLug is now orange. Very classy yet completely pointless. :lol

Overall it wasn't offensive. The new songs were okay but I'm still waiting for a new Macross theme that can approach the perfection of ai oboete imasu ka.

Watching Zero than this is interesting how different they are. Zero is almost straight up mecha-porn while F is just...porn. :lol Sheriru saabisu is 100% get.

Nah it's not so much a retelling as it is a reimagining. I think they realized they totally fucked up the ending for the series by being unclear about the individual character roles and giving the wrong characters the most development. It's sort of like Rebuild 1.0, reanimating the first half of the show with minor tweaks to facilitate the pacing, where the next movie will be a brand new story arc with a proper ending.

I mean, to understand it I had to go look at wiki and see Touma last name is Kamijou, and even then I still think it's somewhat rage inducing (for me).

Amagami 14: Junichi being ridiculous yet again. You never fail to disappoint. Eying the teacher and your sisters friends? Dudes getting more perverted as we go. I did like the bit at the end where they played with the henshin belt toy.

Tamayura 2: Dreams. People have them. Go find yours. Another fun episode though Norie is a little too excitable (I guess I should get ready for more Yuka Iguchi as Index). I did like the way Fu's cafe presented their dishes: a wicker plate/tray with a large leaf coaster and a snipe of a flower to the sides. Thumbs up on that.

I'd compare the content of the MacF movie more to the Escaflowne movie, where it's the same basic story but with new/different situations and altered relationships. Rebuild 1 was much more similar to Old Eva than MacF's movie is.

Yeah, taken alone that would be true, but the thing is that Escaflowne's movie was a stand alone retelling while this is done as a lead-in to a brand new story arc/finale that doesn't fit in the old series' chronology. Thus why I compared it to rebuild.

Toaru Majutsu no Index II Episode 01:
It's nice to see Touma and Index again after so long since I skipped over Railgun. (If they are even in there.) A standard one episode throw away arc to start things off, but seeing Sphinx lead on Touma like that was pretty funny. From the preview the next episode looks to be really kicking it off with a real story arc. Enjoyed the OP a lot as I usually do when Kawada Mami does them, and the ED song by Maon Kurosaki was pretty nice too. Overall it was a okay kickoff to the season.

Feels like the even-numbered episodes have been better than the odd ones, in Panty & Stocking. Loved this one, especially ep. 4.

Kuroko gets a little arc of her own later on this season, when the rival teleporter shows up. Misaka is always there. Uiharu pops up in Kuroko's arc. Saten will probably get a cameo.

where the bio weapon "Funky Boy" emerged because it took a bit too much screen time for my liking and detracted from the actual race, even if it was part of the story. It was just bad to include it. It was cool and all to spectate, but I wanted to watch the race, not some sort of bio weapon battle.
