Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

Well, generally the same reason skies are blue after you fire off nukes in real life or giant volcanoes erupt.

Oh ok, sorry. I just wish the whole game could look like that that first screen of Fallout 4 I saw.

This is the best I could do with the color contrasting. I really like the one where the deathclaw is.

Only problem with that shot is the blue skies. Actually, like I said before, that is my only complaint with the game so far is the color palette. Much to vibrant for me. Why is that sky so blue after nuclear war?

Location and time period matters I would guess. Fallout New Vegas takes place 200 years after the war.

I never said not to move anything forward. I just don't think the world is going to stop spinning because Fallout 4 looks ugly. I can play an ugly game. I could even play Super Mario 64 if I really really felt like it. Or even a 3DS game!!!

no one's "stopping the world from spinning"

people are complaining about something they have a right to complain about

I mean, by that point we might as well just get excited with a Fallout 4 logo and don't ask to see more

The visuals of the game is all we have.

We don't know if it is the definitive 3D platformer of our time yet.

I hope Bethesda can finally make a good game with this... I know that sounds sarcastic but it isn't.

And I'm not a graphics horse but it legit looks like a Fallout 3 texture mod. Good on them for not putting out some unrealistically gorgeous prerendered trailer, but it looks worse than most games even after they get their standard issue downgrade.

Aaand for the new page:

There's also this line

Pre-order Fallout 4 and get 20% off your next purchase on the Bethesda Store! (A 20% off code will be emailed to you after purchase. 20% off excludes games, pre-sale, deposit and sale items. Codes expire October 31, 2015.)

That plus the GMG wording...holy shit this is a 2015 game, isn't it

Cant wait for the game, i just love the "Bethesda game formula"!
Graphics in this trailer look meh though, no way around it, open world or not. Buuuut, the game has a long way to go.

This game is completely and utterly a cross-gen title. They might have cancelled those versions along the way( or shelving them for later release) but its pretty fucking obvious that this was originally a old gen title as well for a lot of time into development, and so the game will suffer a lot because of that. Everyone celebrating " no cross-gen woo woo" should stop now.

Agreed, either last gen versions are coming or they got axed along the way. The graphics don't lie... it doesn't look current gen at all, pretty underwhelming really.

So, with women and gaming being a big deal these days, how pissed are people going to be that you can only play as a man?

What's the excuse? Voice acting= $$$, so budget cuts?

Sure, but this isn't ugly to the point of being unplayable. Like, can you even deign to play cheaper indie games? Because there are tons of good ones with grapgics worse than this.

I never claimed such a thing.
In fact I pretty much said right away I'll get it despite my initial disappointment. Graphics are really underwhelming to me though.

I'll admit that the game does it look as good as Unity(best looking open world) or even The Witcher 3, but it doesn't look THAT bad. It looks like a Next-Gen game to me :)

People have a right to complain about it. But I can't state that I'd be fine with an ugly looking game? And I can't state I'd be fine with PS360 level graphics?

I mean I played Dark Souls on a gaming laptop. So I couldn't run Ultra settings. I just find it hard to imagine being a person who would have said "wow this doesn't look the best, what a shit game."

i really like the whole look of it but why why why can´t they get rid of their stiffy animations and terrible human models. Makes me want to look away.

will play it regardless but i hate looking at the characters movements.

I can't believe people are still discussing the graphics. I think it looks great. Certainly better than any Bethesda game before it. I'm beginning to question whether some of you have ever actually played a Bethesda game or are just joining the Fallout 4 hype train. They don't push the limits, the textures are often awful, and the animations are usually stiff and full of jank.(some of this stuff is actually part of the charm to be honest)

I'm just satisfied the game exists and Fallout 4 is an automatic contender for GOTY before it even comes out.

This entire witch hunt is based off of some crappy leak. No reason they can't have VO for a female character as well.

People will be pissed. And I'll be disappointed I can't do my traditional second playthrough as a female melee/demolitions expert.

With their previous releases coming in the Fall, and Bethesda already aggressively calling for pre-orders, I think Fall 2015 is most likely to me. At the latest, Spring 2016, but for whatever reason I can't see that happening.

Or I'm just being too hopeful.

you said "but then again I play games, not graphics" which sounds straight up smug / mocking those complaining about how it looks as if we were all graphic whores who dare not touch anything below a 4k texture

like, I play games too

What did you expect? Bethesda has never seen a real life human.

Look at the difference a little bit of clear sky makes to the atmosphere compared to Fallout 3.

You can't tell me you don't want to explore this game.

I was hoping to see something along the lines of The Division when it comes to graphical fidelity.

So people are already compaining about the graphics? It`s time to realise that the new consoles isn`t really that much powerful, and that multiplatform open world games always will look decent on nextgen systems, rather than linear games like Driveclub or The Order 1886.

I'm ok with the graphics, my concerns are about how stable is and how many bugs are we going to get on the game, plus I'd hate to see a different leveling system.

That's right. Has anyone considered that humans aren't a slinky. You are dealing with people that will talk to you and escort you where you need to be heading.

I think its getting to where you'll have fans and people who try it out, but you might not get everyone because its not grabbing everyone like they want.

Remember Uncharted 2's "It plays like a movie" and once in a while you'll find people just sticking their head in the door that may not actually like it, but they expect the hype train to solve all their entertainment needs.

IMO its going to come down to being a fan and getting something versus complaining to the 10th degree on not being 100% satisfied by a video game.

This game could have 10's and a GOTY edition some time later and someone could hate it because they weren't a fan or it wasn't making them feel euphoric.

I appreciate that it doesn't have the piss filter but that's something that could have been modded out already.

or you can mod it back in, if asset diversity isn't your thing and you'd rather achieve a puerile vision of a post-nuclear stereotype, as though it were plucked fresh from the mind of Homer Simpson

That was posted 11 months ago, in July 2014.

Most of it is based off of this 2013 Kotaku article, with only a couple things changed, such as gender option, and the random DLC schedule plus Naughty Bear people spin-off: http://kotaku.com/leaked-documents-reveal-that-fallout-4-is-real-set-in-1481322956

Unless you have something better to back it up, keep it out of the thread please.

Quoting Nirolak for the folks concerned that it may be a male only PC. The casting calls were for men and women and the reddit link didn't reveal anything that Kotaku hadn't already. I'd be shocked if Bethesda were that dumb as their games have always appealed to both sexes.
