If only! I would be freaking ecstatic.what if the game looks like it does because it's made for VR?
I would assume, if they have AO (also if exclusive to PC) in the game they would've shown it in the trailer.
Some wild theories:
1. Game is running at 60 FPS on all platforms locked (like TNO and RAGE)
2. They reduced the visually fidelity in the trailer to show off the console versions
--> exclusive marketing deal with either Sony or MS and showing the resp. version here.
To extend and go even wilder:
MS made a big deal with Bethesda to have Fallout 4 releasing during E3 for Xbox One (and maybe Windows 10?) only. (PS4 version follows a month later or so) Microsoft wanting to get back the good will of gamers by only showing how the game really looks on their platform and the deal dictates to show Xbox One footage.

Other than that, I don't think the game looks bad - it's just that it's missing graphical features we got used to.

The visuals for such an open world are fine, especially if you're gonna end up playing on PC. The animations on the other hand... I hope they improve them.

Looks more like idTech to me. Could go either way, but maybe there has been confirmation on which engine Bethesda is using and I'm just not aware. I'm really excited and this trailer blew my mind.

I hope there are female protagonists. I probably wouldn't play as one, but I know there's a lot of female Fallout fans out there that would.

I don't know, 5 DLCs in 8 months sounds a bit far fetched, as does a sequel/spin off in one year. And the last gen version bit sounds like BS too.

I don't know how accurate those other leaks have been, but yeah I hope this stays a rumor. Having a set gender, fully voiced characters seems like a deviation from the standard Fallout/Elder Scrolls narrative.

Really, you can't believe that it's possible this game at one point was cross gen, even while we still have Tomb Raider and MGSV coming out on both generations?
You know what's ridiculous, being called a bitcher and whiner for not "getting hyped" at a trailer that wasn't all that good, and surly wasn't a looker.
This isn't a No Mans Sky situation where questions that have already been answered are being repeated, and trolling is obvious. This is a trailer for a game that is far below par on multiple levels and a game studio/publisher that has an insane amount of resources and continues to produce below par games that are literally saved with mods and unofficial patches, or at worst completely broken on consoles due to memory leaks.
"But fuck graphics" I here people cry, "The gameplay is the only thing that matters!"
The only good current Fallout game was New Vegas. Obsidian isn't making Fallout 4 and I highly doubt we are going to get the quality world and quest/writing that Obsidian brought us, so file that under a "legitimate complaint".
I hope I'm proved wrong and the game is a huge step up from previous Bethesda games, so I eagerly await the E3 showing to have an in depth look at the game and have my concerns eased.

What you actually got is what the game will look like when you play it if it were released tomorrow. Not some bs slice that you never were going to be able to run.
In terms of what is going on in the game the graphics probably could be a bit better. But I am happy seeing the in progress version then seeing some BS.

I hope people wait patiently to find out more about the game rather than basing a bunch of rumors like this on year-old leaks that were never confirmed. I really hope it's not male-only as well, but everyone really needs to wait on more info before going full Internet Ubisoft outrage machine.

How hard is it to bring in a female voice actor to re-do all the lines like Mass Effect? Heck, even Saints Row 4 has many different voices to choose from.

if its true that you can only be one character in the game i actually think its a good thing. the reason is i think it would definitely make more a stronger story if the character actually talks and interacts with other people but also with all their games it always ruins the world for me when talking to npcs they just call you wanderer or some kind of vague thing

This is the worst thing really. Fallout is a RPG, I'm roll playing as a character that I want to be, so forcing sex/race onto a character is going to greatly diminish that experience for anyone who isn't a white male.
If the protagonist talks and they use a fucking Mass Effect scroll wheel there will be riots.

For me I would rather see improvement, but then graphics are not the end all be all for me either. Don't get me wrong, love me some good graphics, but then I enjoyed State of Decay even if it was a pretty hideous game.
I will play the game on PC with a crap ton of graphics mods anyways because I like to really tweak things.

So because of those two things, one of which was already highly rumored to be known for awhile (Boston) and the other is not 100% confirmed, it's legit? I think everyone needs to wait on it a bit more.

I doubt the rumor is true, but is final fantasy any less an RPG because of the set characters? Is Witcher 3 any less an RPG for the same reason?

Only problem with that shot is the blue skies. Actually, like I said before, that is my only complaint with the game so far is the color palette. Much to vibrant for me. Why is that sky so blue after nuclear war?

So the only parts of that "leak" that have been confirmed so far is that the game is set in Boston and is set to be revealed at E3 2015. Like none of that could have been guessed by anyone who's been paying attention.

because it's been over two hundred years since the war. and as ridiculous as I feel it was for Fallout's Capitol Wasteland to be coated in a nonsense green haze that can only be tenuously justified lore-wise, it ain't like Boston is the nation's capitol, so I doubt it got hit with quite as much shit anyway.
I mean, it's the same answer given every time that question is asked. it's a ridiculous question. there's a lot more context for Fallout's mood and atmosphere than just dank skies, which is why I never feel bad about removing the green or orange filters first thing before my Fallout 3/NV playthroughs.

in the post she also mentioned that she initially leaked the first fallout 4 info and it ended up on kotaku. I agree, this might be a very well researched fake. But things like "Male only MC" is just too outlandish for any Bethesda game and a fake leaker would not say it to have their claim be instantly revoked.

Perhaps but I remember how kick ass Morrowind was on release compared to it's competition and even Oblivion was pretty good looking (once you installed a few texture packs). It seems to me that since then they've focused on evolution rather than evolution with Gamebryo which makes complete sense when it comes to what must be a singularly complex production process. I can't help but wonder if they shouldn't have taken that risk this go around and made that investment to re-engineer their though.Still if they fix the writing I know I'll still plough 200+ hours into it, the real question is whether I do it day 1 or wait a few months for the modders to do their work.
