I just like to note that even though Gootecks is the highest ranking American player currently on the Capcom Pro Tour, he is still not considered to be a notable player. Mike Ross still stays winning.

Enjoy everyone.

That's it! I try to list as many as I can, if you have a tournament you want to highlight, please post it in the thread!

Note: If you have an interest in discussing the Fighting Game Community, consider joining the Fighting Game Community thread where we try to talk about what is happening in the FGC.

As always, if you see an infographic for a FGC tournament, it was likely made by acekingoffsuit. The guy makes stream schedules for every major tournament and he does it for free. You can find his twitter account here: https://twitter.com/acekingoffsuit

Also, Malice215's FGC Calendar was used to help get more information on tournaments. Malice215 (also a gaffer) spends much of his free time maintaining the FGC Calendar Malice215's twitter for his FGC Calendar is https://twitter.com/fgcevents_

There are also a number of notable players going who didn't pre register. Mago and Xian being two, and I'm sure there will be quite a bit more by the time brackets are finalized.

Note: Poongko is stuck in O'Hare, Chicago's International airport. His connecting flight to Atlanta got canceled.

This shit is gonna be crazy. Arturo's run in top 8 last year with a low tier Dhalsim in USF4 was dope as hell, hopefully we get a performance that matches that this year too

I noticed you mentioned me when looking through that list. That is me in pool 40, I'm heading out tomorrow morning. I hope to have some good matches and at least break even(basically 2-2). Good luck to anybody else going. I'm actually coming home Sunday afternoon so I'll be stream monstering like the rest of you. Can't wait to watch the rest of it.

I'm so excited to see the Asian guys. I haven't seen anything outside of training from them yet. I hope that somehow we get at least one set between Art and Snake Eyez. NLBC vs WNF needs to be decided. Winner keeps Tasty Steve.

SFV will eclipse everything but I hope some of the other games do well there too. FR is one of my favorite tournaments.

He who pursues two rabbits gets two rabbits.
From the mouth of our very own BakedYams:

"Well, mostly I was just surprised at how bad [Gootecks] actually is [at SF5] when I played him."

I'm a noob and watched my first fighting tournament (EVO) last year, so please help me understand this: shouldn't people be more excited about Final Round around here? I know EVO is bigger, but GAF seemed waaaaaaaay more excited about it.

Also, regarding the schedule, is it EST time?

Thanks for this thread, OP!
