Conte, MAKE HIM CAPTAIN

the true specialists in failure.

Lol, so true. Great defender, but what a cunt.

Luiz, all over the place.

edit
Looks like he has similar heat maps for Chelsea in some games so I guess it's not that uncommon.

Yes but he was probably playing in midfield in those games!

His world cup was like a summary of his career at Chelsea. Most the time he was great, he has pretty much every attribute you could want in a footballer and he is a character who the fans love but he is prone to fuck ups and when he fucks up his head goes, he forgets he is a defender and tries to win the game by himself.

I see people around the web are pretending that we witnessed an all-time amazing performance from Germany yesterday and not rather the utter and complete disintegration of one of the worst Brazils in recent history after that first goal. Carry on, then.

Why are you so bitter today?

It was an all-time amazing performance. Sure, this defeat has been coming for this Brazil side for a while; they lack any team cohesion and are heavily reliant on Neymar and Thiago Silva.

However saying that, you can't take anything away from the Germans. It was a masterclass in attacking decision making. Khedira, Kroos, Muller and Schweinsteiger were all incredible.

Mm. Germany were very very good. But Brazil were diabolical.

Guardian saying Di Maria and Hummels are primary targets at the moment
presumably because the Vidal deal has already been done.

Setting aside the fact that I don't think we'd get two of the three, Hummels and Vidal would be absolutely dream signings. The best centre midfielder in the world and the second best centre back in the world, imagine.

But I can't see one of them, let alone both of them, prepared to leave their managers and their clubs and Champions League football. That's the big stickler. ADM is on a potential transfer list and seems like he's being forced out, so it's a feasible deal. The other two aren't.

And as much as I like Di Maria, I'd much rather the other two.

I think it'll be announced in the next few days.

a few hours before we announce Itrube, we always do that.

Juve gets a bad result ---> officially announce a contract extension of [insert someone in contract talks]

kinda like United and their sponsors.

surprisingly, I like it too. It's charmingly retro.

In other news, finally my dissertation topic has been accepted by the university today. (I've actually never stopped working on it, but the formality of acceptance took forever)

congrats, I know how much of a pain in the ass university bureaucracy can be

While United would be expected to propose an initial bid of around £40m, Real’s interest in Monaco’s James Rodríguez, who was Colombia’s star performer in Brazil, means they may be prepared to listen to an offer in the region of £45m for the 26-year-old who is contracted until 2018, having signed a fresh deal two years ago.

Although Di María is happy at the Bernabéu, he came close to leaving the club in January, according to his agent Eugenio Lopez, who claimed a “presidential issue” was causing his prospective sale. His wife also posted an Instagram message in November that said, “And you want to sell him?” after he scored against Galatasary in a Champions League group match.

The fact that you're sniffing around other players in his position may be the reason he wants to leave :lol

Chicken or the egg, baby.

Don't think Di Maria is going to be particularly interested in a team without CL either tbh

So I've changed my mind about Toni "Weltklasse" Kroos. From now on I shall call him Toni Weltklasse Kroos, without the quotation marks. Best german midfielder at the moment, and he's just 24, too. Now I can finally see why he was declared one of germany's biggest talents ever 8-10 years ago. What a great player Real gets.

In terms of probability ADM >>> Vidal >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hummels

All reports say that Hummels doesn't want to leave and his club doesn't want to sell. I doubt we have even put an official bid in for him.

I think the high possibility is of us getting De Jong after WC is over.

Our only chance of Vidal is if we Juve needs money

or were sniffing around other players because he wont stop being a soggy cunt. I insist, his comments on Messi being the best in the world was basically a huge "IM OUTIE" sign

but as you said, chicken or egg. Everything will become clearer when/if he leaves

Wish Reus was in this Germany team as well. They would have scored TEN

I'm a huge fan of Kroos, by the way. Said it for a while now. Would loved to have got him, but LVG pulled out for a reason and I trust Gaallah my saviour

Khedira was even better than him yesterday, doesn't that make him the best German midfielder then?

Next thread title suggestions?

Im partial to OT25 - You won't beat teams by outscoring them

The title is lovely, but I think OT1 must be in order now, right?

Or do we reckon we can finish an OT pretty quickly considering how long of the WC is left?
