So, this is a thing to keep in mind if you have framerate problems:
The framerate breaks apart on my home and work PC...whenever there is a window open in the background. Doesn't matter what it displays or if it's using any actual power. When I Alt+Tab, minimize it and return to the game: 60fps! The bigger the window, the bigger the FPS drops.
I have never encountered something like that. If your PC should be able to run the game smoothly but isn't: Try that.

this happened to me with record, it wouldn't work if i had any gpu overclockWell lovely it keeps crashing all the time after that first horizon festival upgrade. Also twice locked my PC so I can't do anything but hit the restart button. I don't remember that happening with any other game in years.
Is performance really not that good on a 2500K and a 1080? We have the same setup and I cant play til midnight. My 2500K is at 4.6GHz, not sure what yours is at.
Holy crap this game looks absolutely phenomenal in 4k.
Stunning.
My Horizon 3 won't load when I choose prefer max performance in Nvidia control panel.
If I turn it back to default the game loads fine..wtf
It's just development resources. Very few people not only have the right video card (need HDMI 2.0a + HDCP 2.2) but also a 2015 or 2016 4k TV with HDR10 implementation. That limits it to the 950/960, 1060, 1070, 1080, Titan X Pascal and AMD 470/480 for the most part plus a TV that supports HDR10 properly in PC mode at 60 Hz. It sucks, but even the GOW4 developers said they aren't implementing PC HDR unless there is big demand for it and the GOW4 port looks really well done. Supposedly all Maxwell cards "support" HDR but there aren't any HDR monitors so that limits it to cards with full HDMI2.0a/HDCP 2.2 support to connect to 4k TVs.
need some screenshots, pls. the wait is unbearable..
Not that it should matter.. but are you setting this for the application settings itself or at the global level?
Are there any performance differences between having the game installed on an SSD and a regular hard drive? Besides loading times of course. And is there an easy way to transfer the game from my hard drive to my SSD without having to redownload the entire thing?
The game doesnt unlock for another 6 hours for me but you guys are really scaring me. My specs are :
nvidia gtx 1070
i7 6700k
16 gigs of ram at 3,000 mhz
Was hoping I would be getting above 90 fps maxed out at 1080p, but now I think I need to lower my expectations.
Will be trying this if I experience any issues after the game unlocks.
Thanks for that report. turning off HT was the first thing I did when I got home.
Hoping for a better experience tonight because of it
Yes, i7s (and the equivalent xeon processors, I think)
Yes.
Will this unlock early with a VPN?
Stuttering is a pain in the ass!
I'm playing at 3440x1440 @100hz Gsync + Ultra detail MSAA 4x / 6700k + 980Ti
30fps 1080p at medium seems insanely low for his rig. He should absolutely be able to do better than thatThe best you can hope for in this ultra demanding game @1080p with your rig is 25-30fps at medium settings. Keep your expectations in check.

Can run on an Xbox one, but needs a top of the line card as recommended settings? Jesus christ.
This game really does not like Hyper Threading, in Sufers Paradise :
- HT : 40-45 FPS, 100% core1 usage
- no HT : 55-60 FPS, 85% core1 usage
stuttering really breaks the game experience for me
4,4Ghz 4970k
Titan X Maxwell
16GB Ram
running from Samsung 850EVO
Sadly I'll be passing on this. Most anticipated title next to BF1, too. I just cant play racing games w/ random stutter, especially at 60fps. Even just cruising around w/ stutter is..I can't do it. Immersion breaking, yada yada.
Praying for a miracle patch.
Man, I'm worried this game is gonna be a shitfest on my 8GB of RAM. Have a 2500K and GTX 1080 as well. Is anyone running with 8 and having issues?
My game is so bad I wish I had stuttering. My game feels like it's just skipping huge frames. It feels like an extremely laggy online match. Turning down everything to low doesn't even help in the slightest.
Gsync 144hz, i7 5820k 4.2ghz, 16gb ram, 980ti

I'm in Australia, does that mean I can buy it for even cheaper? Thank god, it's far too fucking expensive here :/If you want to play early buy it on HK or Singapore, the AUS store is only 1 hour earlier but A LOT more expensive.
With unlocked / variable frame rate, or even locking at 72 I get a bunch of stutter and frame drops. 48 feels great. Give it a try.
