Mass Effect and Dragon Age seem to.
Because there are a lot of women participating on Bioware's DA forums. Women may not be the largest playerbase of that franchise, but there are usually more visible women within Dragon Age communities.
Why are people saying Dragon Age? Because you can make a female avatar and fuck guys?
Anecdotally I think this is a good shout.
Resident evil is also that type of series that garners super fans. Happy to buy the same games repeatedly
There was this recent UK survey.

I'm pretty sure one of the most important parts of Raiden and Big Boss' designs are their varied appeal. Raiden's unrealistic beauty and effeminateness and Snake's killer bod are no accident.OP - are you sure MGS has a large female following? I feel like it is mostly dudes that play MGS.
I'd imagine some LGBT too.Pretty sure Dragon Age series and Bioware in general has quite the female following.
Much to the chagrin of a very vocal playerbase.
If you look at the responses to the thread, it's almost like we like the same kinds of games as guys do for the most part! It's just like what various sources have been trying to tell you all along.
Yes, the female following of Bioware games is huge in my experience. My wife is obsessed with them and gets really into the massive amounts of fan fiction out there. Most of her female friends are also very much into the Bioware games.Pretty sure Dragon Age series and Bioware in general has quite the female following.

The demographic breakdown for casual games like Candy Crush and Bejeweled are overwhelmingly female, while core games like Call of Duty are overwhelmingly male:

The audience for Facebook games is also largely female:

This article from 2013 suggests that 56% of 3DS owners were female.

I'm seeing a lot of franchises mentioned in this thread that seem completely out of place. I'm curious if the responses are purely anecdotal or if there is any real data that supports some of the responses in this thread. It boggles my mind that games like Dragon Age are being mentioned over obvious choices like FarmVille. This forum is very strict about posting made up sales data, so I'm surprised to see so much randomness when it comes to demographic data.
You'll find a lot of women in horror game fan bases. This was true a long time ago, I used to find more women than men to share horror enthusiasm with for niche horror games like Haunting Ground, Dino Crisis, Rule of Rose, etc. This demographic has also grown substantially because of the rise of let's plays and some of the biggest LP'ers being focused on horror games.
Laughing so hard at guys who don't believe MGS has a female following. I don't personally know any guys that like MGS. Ladies on the other hand... I'm still in a dream...
