FYI the 8GB iPod Touch is $249 in Canada. We've never had a $200 iPod Touch. The cheapest the older units were is $219.knitoe said:HC gamers don't mind paying $299, but who's going to spend that much for their kids? Makes $200 iPod Touch 8GB almost a steal. I can see more parents getting the ipod Touch instead. Nintendo is in fo a rude awakening if it launches close to that price.
Pretty much, everything is more expensive in Canada.Kusagari said:It will be $250 in U.S.

Kinda sad to think that Spaceworld ended in 2001. Most new people coming into the industry since probably have no idea what it is. Ahh, well. Octoberton is the new Spaceworld anyway (minus the ability for the public to attend)

Agreed.Helmholtz said:Way too expensive for me.
If this thread is any indication, many "hardcore" gamers actually would mind paying that amount.knitoe said:HC gamers don't mind paying $299, but who's going to spend that much for their kids? Its already been marked as $399.Jintor said:Shit. Guessing going to be more than AU$300, then.

The $299 price is for the very chance that it is that price. It's probably going to be $250, but imagine if they charged $250 for the pre-order, and then Nintendo announced the 3DS was $299. EBGames wouldn't want to tell customers "You owe us an extra $50 by the way". This way it's $299, or they get to give the customber back $50/$100.
This, what a fucking bullshit launch that was. :lolTouchMyBox said:Haha, like Sony made EB tell me to pay an extra $50 when they decided to screw canadians over for the PSP launch by forcing us to by Gretzky Hockey?

You know which battery it uses? Share plz.TestOfTide said:If that ends up being more than just a placeholder price...
I mean nintendo didn't even manage to put a decent battery in the 3DS.
Isn't that the DS model?Firestorm said:Don't worry guys, they'll pull a PS3 on us.
$249.99 at launch.
$299.99 a month later.
Canadian dollars.Kurosaki Ichigo said:I'd gladly pay 299$properly converted to 225, but noo, if you guys pay 299$ I'd have to pay 299 which is 398$ which means I won't buy one
