Folks, this is my last contribution for this month.
These are the COVENANT FILES from the "Nightfall" Chapter
More pics will come with the TIP OF THE SPEAR chapter. I think I'll post it in May; it's almost ready but in the next weeks I'll be back to GT5, Uncharted 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse for the sake of variety.

Dear GAFfers,

while I'm preparing the TIP OF THE SPEAR set, coming in 2 weeks, I tried some experiments with photo editing. I was looking at one of my old screenshots,
this one:

and I thought that this could easily become a comic-book frame. Just adding some details.
And the result is:

Wow, some nasty encounters awaiting me!!!
I just finished the Long Night of Solace Chapter and ... wow, it looks incredible.
Can't wait to post them in my blog but first I have my postcards and covenant files of the Tip of the Spear chapter coming in the next few days.

Yes, my Halo:Reach pics are slightly edited: sharpness correctionx1, sometimesx2 (it depends on the ambient light) and a little gamma/contrast correction but not on all pics. It depends too. I must say that Bungie did a wonderful job in rendering a 'normal' pic at 1080p. They are beautiful even without sharpening.

Heh, never knew this thread existed. I've got a reasonable amount of Reach (and Halo 3 and ODST) panorama's up on a special blog. The HaloGAF crew will have seen most of them already: it's been a while since I updated, and I don't expect I'll be updating again anytime soon.

They're .mpo format, so should also work on other compatible devices.

The website shows the images as a wiggle gif, red/cyan glasses mode and cross-eyed mode. You can also download them individually as .jps if you have a device that supports that file type.

I think you can use 3D photo frames or a 3DTV (or monitor) to view the files if you have one too. Other than that, just the options on the website so far I think!

I'm planning a run through the rest of the campaign with friends this week, so I hope to create some more soon .

That's SO true LYPHEN.
And you know what? it's not so 'superficial'.
It's a deep thing:
Not only the BASIC colors are perfect, but if you go near some explosions and take some screenshots, the melange of hues always give you some surprising screenshots.
Here some OLD and some FUTURE stuff from my website archivia (pics are edited in sharpness+gamma, not in color, I just "played" with thunders, lightnings, plasma explosions, bazooka's firing):

Tip of the Sphere photos are fantastic. And I really like the Engineer one.

For a second there I thought the Elite was outside the Corvette and was huge. And I was scared.

ahahah, yeah, indeed.
Well I did not think to achieve this, my idea was to put the elite's eyes in the middle of the photo, to attract if not the viewer attention, at least to inspire him that there's something mean in the air. My idea was that the spectator needed 3-4 seconds to understand what's going on, and then he would like it.
But in the end the feeling this is a huge covenant possibly outside the Corvette is the winning one, you're not the first one to tell me, so somehow I wasn't able to achieve what I wanted to ))

Hi guys,
the EXODUS chapter has been a mixed bag for me. The are some good postcards but a few other intersting views. Indeed, my usual Covenant files are moved to the NEW ALEXANDRIA chapter, which will be full of nice covenant pics coming from that chapter and EXODUS, in just one post.
The Chronicles from Reach: Exodus chapter are not rich as usual, but... you know, there's summer but there's also winter, so we have to accept some up and downs in Reach inspiration.

Here some of the 7 pics, here you can find the full photo-set @1080p.

This last one could be easily a POSTCARD pic, but my CHRONICLES post was so... dry... I thought it could be useful here

Here, my first set about the NEW ALEXANDRIA chapter. In these days I'm working on THE PACKAGE set, so, I'm almost done with this episode.

Hi folks!
Covenant Files arrived to 6th episode, and it's almost done with the full "Reach" game.
This time pics includes 2 chapters: New Alexandria and Exodus, because exodus alone was full of ugly brutes (ugly= design sucks) and really did not inspire me.
On the contrary, New Alexandria offers some colored and inspired interior design, a perfect background for some good pics.
For the fisrt time in Reach, we see some Yanme'e, aka Drones

Hi guys,
my Halo: Reach portfolio is almost done.
I have a rather huge regret: I changed my approach to this porfolio only in the last few weeks.
My old photo-sets were upscaled by Bungie.net, than color-corrected and sharpened by me.
Pictures looked quite good on an HD-READY screen and in this thread too
but on a 1080p screen the final result was quite messy and dirt.
Now I rework the pictures adding an extra coat of smooth and antialias via software, with no sharpening and no color-correction. The screenshot is now enhanced, more compact, but still natural-looking.
Plus, the amount of photos of current set is quite huge, for many reasons: more photos= more tags, a better told story, and probably more casual visitors. And not necessarily less quality.
I told you that I have a regret because HALO: REACH is almost done. My present quality an know-how will be transferred to my HALO 3 Portfolio which is quite promising. And I think I’ll redo also REACH, in the next weeks, or months, slowly but constantly.
