Hands-on with GTA 5 on PC at 4K - IGN

Why are you so interested in a game you've told us ages ago you had no interest in?

Why are you so interested in me being interested blah blah. I used to be a huge GTA fan, hell I used to moderate over at GTAF at one time. I would love to still be supporting Rockstar on the PC platform but Rockstar makes that too damn hard. However that doesn't mean I can't have an interest in what is happening with regards to Rockstar on the PC does it ? or are you just wanting topics full of gushing praise all the time ?

Seriously Sean I have told you time and again, you don't like my posts then IGNORE me, you keep badgering me in these topics and it is really unnecessary.

Most of what they're saying sounds great. Should look and run about as well on your hardware as you could hope. And I appreciate the additional effort they went to in adding a new radio station, Director Mode, and custom playlist integration. That's beyond what one expects from even a good PC port.

But as they go into all this detail explaining all these nice things, the continued silence about their DRM plans smells ever icky.

oh lord oh god

I don't have a PC capable of running GTA V and I already bought it on both PS3 and PS4 but for some reason that 7 disc pic looks awesome to me. Glad to see you guys getting a worthwhile port after all this time.

It's just you've specifically told us before you had NO interest in this game or anything Rockstar does. I guess you've changed your mind. Sorry if I was confused.

Director Mode will allow us to stage elaborate scenes and control characters and animals, adjust weather and time of day on the fly, and trigger actions like gestures and dialogue phrases. Players will also be able to warp to different locations around the map and activate in-game cheats. Rockstar confirms animals, special pedestrians and heist crew members will unlock for use here as you progress through the single-player game.

GTA V PC going after that Youtube / Machinima market.

I have no interest in BUYING the game on the PC. I still have an interest in PC Gaming and Rockstar are releasing a game on the PC therefore as part of my interest in PC Gaming I am interested in seeing how things go. I don't see what is confusing about that, but I do apologise for the confusion now do I have your permission again to post in topics that I want to take part in ?

Now if you want to continue this then pm me about it otherwise let me interact on the board and in topics that interest me without having you badgering every little thing I say.

Did they say or does anyone know what rig IGN was using when they were testing 4k? Were they able to get 60fps at 4k as well?

It was either IGN or PCGamer who did a 4K test using two GTX 980s and ran it on the highest preset at a solid 60 FPS.

No. Real life has far fewer image compression artifacts.

And in real life when you turn your head around, trees don't pop in and out. All I can imagine is those palm tree's or some of the telephone towers to pop in/out as you pan around the camera.

Posted in the other thread, but it's from this article:

This shit sounds AWESOME.

I predict we are going to need a thread dedicated to this.

This made me think of the Simpsons cartoon studio game from back in the day.

I can't wait to see the short films made from this addition!

You know the PC fraction isn't strong enough on GAF when this most glorious thread so quickly drops off the front page.

One could say that it's a fraction of a faction ;)

To be fair, we've had at least 3 GTA PC-related threads frequently bubbling to the top page the last few days, the discussion is mostly getting divided between them.

The game scales from a 1GB cards such as the 9800gt from almost a decade ago, all the way to sli gtx 980 for 4k 60fps, and even beyond that apparently. 1080p is apparently achievable with an "average system" which makes sense with the recommended spec only needing a 2gb gtx660

I don't see a reason to get hung up on that screenshot without knowing what was in the system in the first place

A 2gig 660 is recommended? Well look at that - just what I got :)

Recommended for 60fps 1080p? Or more like 30fps or 720p?

My 2GB GTX 670 probably won't be able to run this at 1080p 60fps, will it :(

I had that gpu until January when I upgraded to a GTX 970.

Let me tell you, it's a great card, I kinda regret having upgraded. BUT!. Per se, that GPU is more powerful than a Ps4 (in flops, Ps4 is 1,84Tflops, and the 670GTX is 2.5 or 2.6Tflops).

I know they don't compare (console vs gpu, totally different things) BUT, I have been able to run Watch dogs @1080p with high or very high settings (ps4 is 900p w/ medium/high settings if i am not mistaken).

Same for Assassin's creed unity, consoles are 900p w/ low settings capped at 30fps. On Pc the 670GTX can run this game @1080p w/ medium settings at 45fps more or less.

So, just use the same config for Ps4 (they are unknown, but eventually someone will be able to get the exact config) and you will get a smooth 1080p.

If the optimization is similar to what we got with Max Payne3, I am sure you will be able to get a great performance out of your GTX670

Just sold my xbox one copy. Buying on steam. I couldn't get over the console versions graphics after being spoiled and knowing just how good max payne 3 looked. I have to have it.

The director mode sounds fantastic. IV had a really robust editor, so it'll be great to see what people make with this one, now that there's more options.
