Heroes of the Storm |OT3| Chromiehounds

Rhaknar and Alur duo: 2-0. Best international team up since the original Overwatch formed.

Kappa

Worst Genji EU confirmed.

Confirmed worst on both continents now. There's no games I can't ruin.

EDIT: Was interesting with the ping. It settled in about 180 in that second game but it was only input delay. I used to get 125-140 when I lived on the East Coast here and it would hitch every couple of seconds...no hitches or stutters even up to 220 ping now, though. As long as it doesn't have those microstutters it's bearable. Feels a bit like playing on half speed, but better than I would have expected.

2-0 with both getting mvp on a game too lol. Clearly Russia got the wrong intel from Trump, they should have inquired about Genji/D.Va

So what are some top team comps in this game? Right now I am just getting guys to level 5 (WHY DO I NEED 14?!), but there are certain heroes I have been hitting the "favorite" button on. Diablo cemented himself as one last night after I got MVP and was able to hunt down Zeratul multiple times with Hellfire, haha. I want to know who they "play" well with. I mostly like playing characters that can disable a lot, have high burst damage, and have decent survivability (I can't stand getting ganked by one bout of burst damage).

Also, do you guys ever do stacks in ranked? It'd be nice to get a team together eventually. Everyone here seems pretty chill.

What should my goals be in terms of hero competency? In Overwatch and every fighting game I play, I am a character specialist (though in Overwatch they call it a one-trick pony :-(). But since there are character bans in Overwatch, I wonder how many characters I should have in my pocket to be an asset to a team. I don't like to spread myself too thin because I strongly value mastering all of the situations one character can encounter.

Cho'Gall is sort of broken as fuck in quick match.

Why?

Why?

You should pick a favorite role, sounds like you'd prefer main or off tank and be decent at 4 or 5 of those heroes. Then you'll want to at least be familiar with top meta picks or easy to play heroes in other roles before you dive into solo ranked.

Trying to convince people to stop filtering one at a time in to his waiting arms with a massive hp pool and high damage is a difficult task.

The reason you need 14 heroes is because there are 14 involved in the draft

If you do well as a otp in overwatch you should try to select playmaking heroes like zeratul to master, those are usually the most fun heroes too

I think the thing I like more than anything in competitive gaming is to ALWAYS feel like I am threatening my opponent. Even if I am not actively doing anything, I want my opponent to feel pressured by my presence. I feel like Roadhog has that effect in Overwatch - his existence makes people fear the hook; their alarm sensors start going off and they play differently because of the threat he imposes just by being there. In fighting games, my all-time favorite character in Dormammu, who has this same effect: Purification could hit you at any moment, so there's a constant anxiety when you're facing him even when he's standing there.

But I also generally don't do well playing squishy characters, and I almost always play villains in the games I play.

Why does everyone say he is so bad, then?

What's OTP?

14 heroes for 14 in a draft doesn't make a lot of sense to me. :p

My bud I play with a lot is a Zeratul main, so I don't want to conflict with him.

*shrug*
Every time I've seen him on the enemy team I've people try to run off alone and fight him, then get melted. With a coordinated team I'm sure he's easy to shut down, but quick match players aren't always the most intelligent. Or willing to fight as a team.

If you own 13, and all 13 are pick/banned before you get to pick, there's a problem! Hence, HOTS requires ownership of 14 heroes!

The L5 requirement is a QoL protection so baddies don't try out heroes in ranked modes for the first time.

Otp = one trick pony. If you have 10 heroes in a match plus 4 bans that's 14 heroes. So for example if you only own 12 then there is a possibility that all your heroes can get banned or picked before it's your turn to pick.

I expect that most people are still baddies in ranked. :p

I'd rather let anyone play, and just let people fall to the rank they deserve. That's better than forcing people to grind out heroes. I didn't start enjoying Overwatch until I hit ranked, either.

Level 37 and I only just found out there's a fountain behind your outer tower that can heal you with a cooldown. Wtf.
I just started using this more often yesterday, haha.

Ah, that does make sense, then. Thank you for clarifying.

deleting a bunch of images off my harddrive and figured I would post this avatar here if anyone wants it. From the Blizzcon poster last year, someone wanted Ana and Chromie was almost cut out so I just finished it. Forgot I had even made it until all this Chromie love in here lately.

Chogall is countered hard and easy to play against if you know he's coming. But QM is pretty random so often you end up with a bad team comp and no answers, and then he seems OP.

How do I win with Tyrande when the matchmaking keeps putting me in a team with 2-3 supports against a team with probably three times our damage and maybe Zarya too?

jesus, the hanamura merc camps are strong. You can bribe the enemy's big cyborg dude all day with Murky's explosive fish stacks and get a healthy xp lead this way

edit: also, I found my new love and he is called murky

So is Zarya more about lobbing granades than standing there shooting the beam? Not really sure what I should be doing with that hero.

"Third Guy" could not look more awkward while others talk or when asked to talk. Dude is stiff as a board. He might be okay given more reps, but I just feel bad for him while watching him right now.

During my time of doing nexus challenges I learned that Chromie is OP. Dude was lobbing like 2k basic bolts and I'm like whaaaaat?! Li-Ming etc all doing like 40% of Chromies burst damage.

Also FUCK Valeera and Nova. Thank god I won't actually have to play the game now that I got the lootboxes.

Chromie is frustrating to deal with, but she's far from being OP. She doesn't have any good viable mobility option Li Ming, so any assassin that comes close melts her unless they fall for her E.

It really doesnt help when you are on the fence on a hero that you keep ketting awful games, and youre not exactly sure if its you / the hero, or just the awful games :/

in this case, Thrall, who I think im kinda digging him, at least this chain lightning build, but im stuck in a losing sprial.

Murky feels very strong, but I guess part of it is because most teams are not coordinating against him. Half of the trouble I cause the other team is me stealing mercs, which wouldn't be a problem for them if they denied it by capturing first.

except they buffed her timetraps to be OP.

I still love chromie but she's problematic, perhaps moreso than Li Ming nowadays.

I usually just throw a skillshot on obvious paths to see if there's any trap and it hasn't been much of a problem for ganking. In teamfights there's usually enough people backing them that it doesn't guarantee a kill.

imo if there's anything problematic about her is the W range

but that reveals your position and chromie can just bow out.

She can also just throw down a trap in the path of her retreat buying her time when you have to sidestep it or get caught and slowed for 50% afterwards.
