I've been following the ARG scene since 2004, and you would never launch a trailhead like this. The Portal potato hunt at least made sure to leave enough vagueness in the patch notes to be noticed.

When they finally get around to doing something ARG related, there will be enough indication that something's not right, that the right people will be able to yield results. Until then, this is not that.

Correct, that dialogue, rebel chatter specifically, has been in the game since 2004. In fact, here's one of the beta patch notes:

Fixed some missing responses from Rebel chatter

Also, Merle Dendrige being back in the booth means she's recording dialogue for Dota 2 characters.

Again, Laidlaw has said that the update is just some housekeeping and there's no new content. Case closed. You're wasting your time looking for something that isn't there.

I dont remember anything like that. I do remember that Episode 1 used to have an additional section at the end for a very early trailer for Episode 2.

I think this was the trailer that used to play at the end of episode 1.

Yup, I was about 50/50 on whether or not I was dead or they were dead, and more often than not I had to clean up in the latter case. Greatest weapon devised.
