The moments where you're fighting multiple big robots at once are just insane. The destruction and the quick thinking and accuracy you need to get out alive is exhilarating.

Got an early copy, played it all weekend.

This game is basically The Witcher 3 with much better combat. It is also the best looking game I've ever played.

I was on media blackout entirely for the game, was very surprised how absolutely massive and varied the world turned out to be. Also did not know that it was actually an RPG.

It is amazing. I love it.

I'm in your boat and Amazon screwed me. It went from release day to coming Thursday. I'm charged and everything and it says it's preparing to ship but that arrival date changed. I hope it's wrong.

Hah, my preload is completed after thinking i'd save this for after Mass Effect. What can I say, the hype got to me hard. Gonna try to "sprint" through this one, but everything I hear just makes me think i'll fall further and further down the rabbit hole with this game.

I love this game!

It is just a joy to play. Aloy is interesting, the narrative is compelling and my god it's absolutely stunning to look at on my PS4 Pro in 4K HDR on my KS8000. There's nothing like it out there.

I feel like there are not a ton of videos out there showcasing just how versital the combat and weapons can be in Horizon. If you run in just using your bow (against machines), you're going to get mauled. I love how this game forces you to adjust and adopt new strategies and change weapons while fighting. These videos I made regarding the trials on the game really show just many many different ways there are to fight the machines.

My suggestion is you play this game on either Hard or Very Hard. I started on Very Hard, but dialed it down to Hard because I had limited time to make videos. Make no mistake, Very Hard is pretty darn challenging!

Watch these videos to get an idea of what I mean by the combat. Also, might want to bookmark these if you run into any trouble with the trials. They can be challening at times, but they offer a TON of XP so they're highly recommended.

Oh shit, just got a USPS text alert that my copy is out for delivery!!! So hyped to get it even a day early, maybe I can beat it before Zelda on Friday now, lol.

Ordered from Amazon, so it's a nice surprise, don't usually get anything early from them.

So my CE coming from Amazon is now showing a Wednesday delivery via UPS even though Amazon shipped it a few days ago and it still says delivery by tomorrow. Wtf so pissed right now.

I also never understood this when waiting for a much anticipated game. Why would you wanna potentially ruin the experience by watching someone else spoil it for you? Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

My copy is being delivered today and of course I'm stuck at work until 7. At least my 'weekend' is Tues/Wed so I'm looking forward to binging hard on this.

I've played on very hard from the start, I think it's a great spot for challenge. It's never frustrating to me. At the start yeah things will kill you quick but as you level up your health increases and it becomes more forgiving.

I went with hard and there are some challenging parts, but I feel that's how this game should be, got my butt kicked a few times. I really do think normal might be a bit too easy, haven't tried it myself though.

How frequently does it auto save? I have the awful habit of going hours without manually saving in games that don't hand a menu option for it.

All the difficulty does is literally change damage values and some health plant values. So it's not a drastic change. Plus it's ok to change on the fly, so if one is too hard or easy just change it.

This is important SAVE AT EVERY BONFIRE MANUALY. It does not auto save frequently, only after completing an objective. You will lose progress if you don't save often.

Out of interest, does enemy AI scale up and down with difficulty changes, or is it more damage & stat related? EDIT: Nvm haha you literally answered while I was slowly typing that up.

More often than not I play games on Hard (or whatever one notch above Normal is) by default these days. Think I might go Very Hard with this one based on what people are saying.
