This is why I don't do much that requires editing at all. Though my 10 second ninja spliced not-really-speedrun was oddly popular and kind of fun to do. Way too many clips though.

The kids thing is why I roll my eyes every time my mother asks about that. I'd still like to live some life, first...

Yea for the most part I don't do much crazy editing. Though this next video I am doing requires a lot of it.

Also last week when my kids were consuming my world, I was thinking in the back of my head how much freedom I'd have without a wife and kids. But then I thought if I was in that position, I'd think the opposite.

Grass is always greener I suppose.

OP impressions:

A Knife made of whispers
In contrast to managores last games, this one doesnt gel with me. Its a good and challenging platformer for sure, but there is nothing particularly unique about it that makes this in any way memorable. The big hook is the light ball, which enables your combat ability, to create an action platformer in which you need to prepare the level parts before fighting enemies. However, its neither interesting, nor rewarding to do, it unfortunately just ends up feeling a bit... cumbersome.

BitGun
Action platformer with boring level design and uninteresting mechanics.

Blink Gun

Really short puzzle platformer, that I surprisingly enjoyed due to the challenging puzzle design with the very simple mechanic.

I would have done modbot but I wasn't sure if they had already been redeemed previously.

Sorry for possibly getting your hopes up.

I just played 6 hours of Galactic Civilizations 3 (released yesterday) and I am glad to report that it lives up to its legacy. Cant wait for mod support and some more elements, but that game is as fun as ever.

That's cool, I've been meaning to put some severe time into it once I get the chance to. Despite its relative age compared to many other games, GalCiv 2 is still my favourite space 4X game.

Is anyone here playing Not A Hero? Can someone talk a bit about how the game expands on its core mechanics, becomes more diverse? I was hyped for it, but then I played the demo and it seemed kind of repetitive.

Also I see the game is DRM-free on GOG. I've never purchased from GOG; is it just like purchasing a DRM-free game from Humble?

The enemies become more diverse making you re-think how you approach sections and use secondary weapon (grenades, mines, etc).
There are cool weapon modifiers too. On top of that each character has different pros and cons so that adds something different to the mix.

Hope that helps. Game gets hard towards the last few levels. Intense stuff. I like this kind of game though, there will be constant failure at times but once you get it. Satisfying.

I'm kind of annoyed that I can't get a solid framerate in Not A Hero. Getting some stuttering no matter how I set my monitor.

You'd think I wouldn't have this problem with G-Sync but the game exclusively uses borderless windowed mode so it doesn't kick in.

Yep, pretty much the same.

Also, check this - http://www.gog.com/galaxy

You can't? I was hoping to run it on my rather low-end notebook.

This game didn't get much traction on GAF but what happened to Limit Theory? This was a ridiculously impressive one-man space sim that was putting out some of the most interesting update videos I've ever seen. You could basically watch the game being assembled from month to month.

..and then the developer stopped updating. Nothing for almost five months now. No one's seen him online either.

I'm worried about the guy.

Thanks for that. I didn't suspect that he'd ever drop the game or anything but it seemed possible that he was sick or injured.

Yeah you do tend to wonder if there has been something bad in rl when someone who is regularly online just stops posting at their usual places.
