The main issue in all of this imo is the amount of gold you get for dupes. Like only 250 for a duplicate Legendary skin is ridiculous. I get they need to monetize and make money so getting the full 1000 gold is unrealistic, but you should at least get half of the items value

They never did anything regarding the loot boxes for the whole year despite people complaining about it. Action speak louder than words Jeff.
There was a lot of negative comments during the summer games, next event they allowed you to buy skins with coins at 3x the cost. Hopefully they make another adjustment, but i agree it's just words now. They never did anything regarding the loot boxes for the whole year despite people complaining about it. "Nothing will change, keep spending money, thanks."
I hate the way loot boxes work. If I'm gonna get 4 dupes, which I do now 60% of the time, let me spend the gold I would get for another spin. You do it in HOTS, do in Overwatch.
Not getting duplicates would be amazing, getting not even half but a quarter(1/5th?) of a items value if its a duplicate is just a kick to nuts.
It's incredibly unlikely they get rid of dupes. It would completely undermine the idea of buying near infinite amount of lootboxes hoping you get what you wanted. Not getting duplicates would be amazing, getting not even half but a quarter(1/5th?) of a items value if its a duplicate is just a kick to nuts.

'next year for sure' is all i read that as. its not a new problem this was just them seeing how far they could push it. that or 'well we'll just put out less rewards in the next even't
This is the most "it's fucking nothing" statement I've read in a long time.
Done with gaming after this Gen.
The anniversary event added a ton of trash drops so the problem feels even worse now because you aren't even pulling pulling out 100g in dupes every box. I feel like just adding guaranteed 150g in every box would be nice. So at worst you are getting event skins every 20 boxes. Most people will level or get 20 boxes from an event with regular play.
I've never missed out on event drops I wanted as long as I played regularly during the event. I usually have enough coins to grab anything that didn't drop, too.
They're just going to make the game free. If the game is free, then nobody can complain about stuff like lootboxes, right?
So true.More like
We realized our skinner box is too slow in triggering your dopamine glands. We're going to up the dose to make you peasants happy.
Or in this events case 3000 gold per skin. The main issue in all of this imo is the amount of gold you get for dupes. Like only 250 for a duplicate Legendary skin is ridiculous. Never had an issue getting event items if you play consistently..
Sounds like most of you just decide to hop on OW only when events are going on or want every single event item.
Dupes aren't going anywhere because removing them would severely undercut the money they make off people buying lootboxesPreventing dupes for event-only loot, or making event dupes give 20% of their upped cost instead of 20% of the normal cost for the rarity, would be a nice start.
