sorry, had to bump:

Sony are suing for this! Not only are they suing Bridgestone for the commercial, they're also suing Wildcat Creek, Inc.

Who are they? Well, evidently they're the advertising company hired by Bridgestone for the commercial. According to this their president is none other than Jerry Lambert.

Sony sues Kevin Butler lol

Holy shit, really Sony? LMAO

So petty Sony - shame on you. Although I guess they've got a good case seeing as how Lambert was digitally erased from the ads, or something like that anyway.

Still petty though.

you guys know that if there is a contract in place and he breaks the contract he is liable to be sued?

the same would have happened to the Verizon wireless "can you hear me now?" guy.

he couldnt do ANY other commercials.

Lol, wow, really?

Jerry Lambert did a Bridgestone commercial long ago, Sony only cares now cause there's a Wii in the commercial, lol

Unless Sony really didn't know until now

Hell there's even this, which apparently was aired during the Super Bowl

Sure but generally one wouldn't consider Sony and Bridgestone to be competitive rivals even if Bridgestone is running a promotion including Nintendo.

Of course I don't know the details of his contract but it still comes off as a case of Sony taking their ball and going home.

Incredible.

Thread title change please.

Oh wow. Seems they are going for trademark infringement. Based on those grounds it seems like Sony feels Jerry cant be in any other advertisements anymore because he is a Sony creation.

Most likely he isn't allowed to be in commercials related to gaming. Fair trade, I suppose.

It's the same as Old Spice guy being in an ad for Axe and Progressive chick in an ad for Geico.

A contract is a contract is a contract.

wow, they can't possibly think this is a good move, who cares about him being in this ad? seriously. Now think of all the bad press they will get after "Sony sued Kevin Butler" headlines and whoever didn't care about this now will. so dumb.
