Kotaku: GTA V to have some sort of special perk for PS4 owners

Seemed pretty vague.

Hope it's something with Sony License content.

I can't stand when it's anything else.. I think it's cool that TLoU is getting a level in Diablo 3, but if it's just content being held back for no reason other than exclusivity it just annoys me.

Expected... they did that with GTAV on PS3 and for now they are getting the best games for "exclusive marketing":

Watch Dogs
Destiny
GTAV

That seemed like a pretty big non-answer. This could mean the PS4 is getting exclusive content, it could mean the PS4 version will look/run better or it could just be bullshit that leads to nothing.

I love it when Sony strikes exclusive deals they are being proactive but when Microsoft does it its called moneyhatting. :p
That's mostly a reaction to the years MS did it. And Sony didn't have to in the ps1/2 era because their sales made people just come to them. But that's just my reasoning/opinion

Why didn't they say this at the event?
Also GTA franchise suggests this is only the beginning and not a one off the gen.

All I can think of is a bundle that they wouldn't want to announce until after the destiny bundle has been sold. Otherwise they'd probably have announced during conference.

I bet you it's a bundle of some sort. They had it for GTA V and it did very well, so I think, they'll continue it.

On another note: I really don't like the Assassin's Creed Xbox deal. AC is a PlayStation-associated franchise and that's where it should stay.
EA tried it last year with Battlefield 4 and they failed miserably, now they're back at Sony. I hope, we'll see the next AC back in Sony's hands.
To me, it's just sad, that the best AC in a long, looooooooooong time isn't enjoying the PS marketing privilege. But enough of the OT. :p

Andrew opened the conference with the notice, that every 3rd-party-title on the show would have some sort of exclusive deal on PlayStation.

What's happening with AC? Didn't know there was anything happening. I haven't really associated any ubi title with any system since they are always multiplatformers. Then again that's probably just my PC centric view of it since I don't think I've missed anything other than delayed releases

I'll be shocked if it's something meaningful.

Everything that both Sony and Microsoft showed at their conferences that had the label "First on XXX" or "Exclusive content" were ridiculous.

Pretty much in agreement. The only interesting stuff was Far Cry 4 multiplayer being available to those without it on the PS4, which is genuinely interesting. Everything else just felt like an excuse to say the magical exclusive word

Platform-exclusive content in multiplatform games is the worst. Not sure if this has been a major thing in last gen, but this gen it's extremly annoying.

Because there's nothing to say. He said the franchise was special to the PS brand, and that it'll be a special experience on PS4.

Yeah it was so vague he really didn't verify that there'd be extra content for PS4.

The question was vague, the answer was vague. He could just as easily been vaguely referring to the likelihood of it looking / sounding / playing better on PS4 due to it's greater performance over XBO.

Copying over save from PS3 version?
Using Vita as a rear view mirror?

After reading your post, it got me to realize that i can play GTA V on Vita using remote play. Apart from the upgrade in visuals, the main reason why I might double dip is because of the remote play on the Vita, I can't wait to play it again.

fuck off with these exclusive hours, bazookas whatevers on both sides its hella lame.

Indeed.
It's one thing to produce a game (like Bloodborne or Bayonetta 2 or Phantom Dust) it's another to gate off little pieces of meaningless content.

Eh, whatever.

I would love to have that Casino opened with gambling minigame in SP and GTAO. And I dont even want it to be a exclusive.

I wonder if there will be any new minigames for next gen version. Esp. in GTAO, which has become pretty boring now.

Or simply that, because of the franchise history, playing on PS4 is simply more special than on Xbox.

Microsoft has bought/pays for AC Unity co-marketing this year, after every previous AC release was co-marketed by PlayStation with PlayStation-exclusive missions and Vita even got a (timed) exclusive.

If it's physical (a console/special bundle/pack-in) then ok. A neat special/limited edition maybe?

If it's an in-game thing...I'll stick to the PC version and wait for this "special thing" to be mod'd in.

Agent pack-in.

EDIT: In all seriousness isn't this just the save transfer dealy?

That's available on XB1 and PC as well.

Working share function?

I hope to god it's fixed by the time GTA comes out. I'm more than likely getting the XB1 version to play with friends anyway, but the inability to confidently record footage is a major reason why I wish I got Watch Dogs for XB1 instead of PS4. Maybe with the update that adds Youtube Sony will finally address the fact that one of the major selling points of their console (sharing is caring) is broke as fuck.

It will probably be an exclusive mission about an event that occurred during the cold war where you play as a spy who did something big that had repercussions on the present day of GTA5.

This exclusive mission will probably be named Agent.

Right, and Sony landed Battlefield:: Hardline for co-marketing this year even though Battlefield sells better on Xbox platforms and is more closely associated with those platforms as most shooters are. As far as I know XB1 owners won't be getting an extra hour of exclusive content with Unity though. So where is the drama? AC and BF are as multiplatform as it gets. Does it really bother you what cover is at the front at the end of commercials or what button prompts they use in demos?

You know what bothers me, the fact publishers and platform holders still dick around with exclusive content. I love the Arkham games and every one of them has had some form of exclusive content on PS3 and the same will likely be true for Arkham Knight. That shit grinds my gears. Perhaps MS is the shiniest of two turds in this regard though since I can't recall a single game they've got co-marketing with that has exclusive content whereas Sony has secured it with Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Batman and now (iirc) Destiny. (edit; I thin Far Cry is another game that historically has had exclusive content for PS3 and now PS4).

I wish none of the above was a practice this industry makes use of. I think it's just annoying and flat out anti consumerist. It especially grinds my gears when retailers get involved, as is now happening with the Master Chief Collection.
