I dunno if arc system works would want to fragment the fanbase for Neo Atlas after it sold this much on Steam - Owners: 2,031 ± 1,622
The Steam release had a few things going against it: Late announcement & zero marketing, no one knew it was out & Steam curation sucks, 3 reviews so far on MC, Steam version is just a port of a Vita game that seems like a better fit for a handheld (just look at the menus, HUD layout, etc.), not sure about this but I would argue that Artdink fans are more on consoles/handhelds and I personally associate them mainly with Playstation.
I'm not gonna argue that it would magically sell 50k units on Vita, but a proper LRG release would help remedy many of the problems: LRG certainly know how to get the word out, all of their releases have sold out so far, Vita fans give quirky niche games a fair chance and we aren't drowning in games like Steam users, ...
And best of all, it's actually a really fun, well-made game that offers a fresh experience and could have wider appeal.
That's it. Like, literally, I think this is the game that should be up next. It's perfect for LRG - in that it's not actually a localization, just a contract negotiation between Artdink and ASW. A game already in English from a publisher that might actually be receptive to working with LRG (i.e. not Koei Tecmo with Nights of Azure or Square Enix with I am Setsuna), I reckon Artdink would definitely be up for making a small amount more money with it. They already licence out their A-Train games to companies like Natsume.
LRG could still work on an actual localization on the side, but they said they wanted to start with fairly easy stuff and this one is probably the easiest!
I think you're right. Out of all the games mentioned since Fata Morgana, this one seems like it has the most realistic chance of happening for the reasons you mentioned. Would be a cool LRG release imo
No love for Desire Remastered too?
I would take either (but I'd rather have Desire).
Interesting, didn't know about this one! I've actually never played an El Dia game, just knew about them from the long-running Burst Error series.
