Lmao, the pvp in this game:
- Extreme rubber banding, both the host and invader get locked at 30 FPS because they couldnt figure out proper connection.
- Progression on coop sessions doesn't carry over for the person summoned.
- If you are invaded, the guy can fucking kill the NPCs in your game and brick questlines.
They should have focused on single player, they clearly didnt had the experience.

yeah, ds2 is great. it's just that shcolar and dlc is asshole city. I like the original version.
As or ds3, I had the same opinion as you but I replayed it few years back with ringed city and other dlc... and it was incredible. Really clicked

Hitboxes are fine. That pursuer gif is not indicative. Same happens in lies of p with laxasia fight. She impales next to you and hitbox catches you.
ds2 is just creative and feels good. Of course ds3 is better. But ds2 is my fav... maybe. trades blows with ds3 and ringed city

Son forgetting his daughter, characters forgetting who the are an where they are heading.
It's the only entry which let's you see how these kingdoms come to fall and how the curse/cycle works.
I really like the somber atmoshhere.
As for gameplay, the customization, power stancing, hexes, good level design, variety between areas and enemies. Items, boss qty and variety. You don't fight the same guys over and over.
The only problem is with some of animations and uneven grahics. And scholar being asshole city

I ignore the press for all reviews except the few individuals whose opinions I generally align with or at least respect. That list is basically ACG, SkillUp and Jeff Gerstmann. None of which provide a numerical score.

Exactly.
Nothing wrong with ds3/bb/elden ring engine.
It looks great. The amount of environmental detail and geometry in ds3 and BB is fantastic. No streaming issues too.

i. A few bad ones but Looking Glass Knight, Demon of Song, Darklurker, Fume Knight, and Sir Alonne are all fantastic boss battles.
ii. The Gutter and Eleum Loyce are some of the best levels the company has ever crafted.
iii. I tend to agree, which is why I modded it.
iv. Par for the course and the same accusation applies to even Elden Ring.
v. It is the best because all weapon types and magic types are equally valid ways to play to completion, its items have the best placement with regards to time investment, and it is the least linear in the order that its levels can be played.
P.S. Unlike rofif I consider Scholar of the First Sin the best release. I am also far more impressed by the gameplay revisions in Seeker of Fire mod than any other game in the series.

I was just talking about reviewing games in general, not specific for performance. I grew up playing Goldeneye split screen at like 20 fps so performance issues really don’t bother me as much as most of this forum.
Half of you already call 30 fps “unplayable”

Might be just me but performance has never bothered me in a game ever.... Even the worst of the worst... That is a perk(Like Lead Stomach from Fallout) from mostly using underpowered PC when I used to do PC gaming... 60 FPS stable perf modes on PS5 is filthy luxury to me... I actually miss my slideshow Skyrim modded runs.

I was tempted to get this but the bug of an invader killing your npcs in game world to brick side quest progress made me do a 100% do not buy until fixed.
I assume I can’t play offline either with this game so it’s not avoidable ?

Without going too deep into it I don’t mess with any of his content due to all the drama surrounding the channel. Bans off other platforms for a lot of shady practices. Don’t want to support with any clicks.
If you end up rewatching it or someone else can confirm then I may pick this up today on ps5 for pre order.

Looks like I was right. I could tell by the footage that it wouldn't be top tier with critics but I'm positive I will love it from what I've seen. I think we're eating good with LoP and this. I don't know why everything has to be a competition. At least they are different enough and giving us a taste of more Souls and more BloodBorne. I'm thankful.
