Season 5 of the critically acclaimed AMC series Mad Men starts up Sunday, March 25th at 9pm with a special 2 hour premiere. It's been a long 17 month break between seasons, and it's great to have Mad Men back on the air. Please note that the show will switch to it's regular 10pm slot on April 1st.

Summary

Mad Men is an American dramatic television series created and produced by Matthew Weiner. The show is broadcast on the American cable network AMC and is produced by Lionsgate Television. It premiered on July 19, 2007 and completed its fourth season in 2010. Season 5 will premiere on AMC March 25, 2012 at 9/8c.

The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper (Hamm), the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960s traditional family values.

Mad Men has received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its historical authenticity and visual style, and has won numerous awards, including four Golden Globes and seven Emmys. It is the second cable series to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series and the first basic cable series to do so.
