[PSV] Sword Art Online: Hollow Realisation: 136
[PS4] Sword Art Online: Hollow Realisation: 87

[PSV] World of Final Fantasy: 35

[PS4] Berserk and The Band of the Hawk: 25

PS4 version of World of Final Fantasy and Vita version of Berserk never appeared.

It's going to be another week of under-performing games, that's for sure.

SAO will be the least bad, but I still think it's gonna be down from Lost Song.

I'm not expecting WoFF to be as bad as it could've been, but it's still going to be a long way from from where it should be performing.

And Berserk is just... yeah. This "everything is musou" formula seems to be coming to an end.

Pokemon sure is huge, then.....Momotaro but isn't that kinda late so it won't really help i feel.

YW3 Sukiyaki but it sure does not feel that it will do really well.

Super Mario Maker 3DS also can be huge.

Don't think there is any other huge number left.

Attack on Titan was at 280k last quarter before western release. I guess we told it goodbye already and Toukiden doesn't look it will go much further.

また2月に国内で発売した『進撃の巨人』(PS4、PS3、PS Vita、Xbox One、Steam用)を欧米向けに展開し、35万本の販売となりました。グローバルでの累計販売本数は70万本を超え、大きなヒットとなっております

Attack on Titan is 700k worldwide and sold 350k overseas. Koei says its a 'big hit'.

I'm sure we'll get a big write-up on the company financials soon, but might as well share this for now from Koei Tecmo's:

https://twitter.com/bk2128/status/791618592487772161

Toukiden 2 - 250k
Attack on Titan (worldwide) - 350k
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (F2P) - 7m downloads

Famitsu (just at retail)

[PSV] Attack on Titan # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2016.02.18} (¥6.800) - 112.510
[PS4] Attack on Titan # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2016.02.18} (¥7.800) - 99.330
[PS3] Attack on Titan # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2016.02.18} (¥7.800) - 51.373
Total: 263.213

Edited: I see, it's 350k overseas, not total

Toukiden shipped >400k in Japan, right?

I guess a big hit translates to MAYBE one more game. I remember people thinking it won't do that good and go the way of another musou. Hope Toukiden 2 does atleast decent numbers worldwide even though I doubt it. They seem to have put a lot of effort behind ps4 that it deserves some decent sales

Toukiden 2 - 250k

So I guess this means it sold its original shipment, and a topping of digital?

04./00. [PSV] Toukiden 2 # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2016.07.28} (¥6.800) - 59.032 / NEW <60,40%> = 97735 units.
05./00. [PS4] Toukiden 2 # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2016.07.28} (¥7.800) - 46.334 / NEW <78,86%> = 58755 units.
11./00. [PS3] Toukiden 2 # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2016.07.28} (¥7.800) - 6.222 / NEW <52,51%> = 11850 units.
Total = 168340 units.

So even a second shipment would have gone out to reach this number.

Predict how much these titles will sell in the month (from Oct 31 to Nov 27):

[3DS] Nintendo 3DS Hardware (28 days) - 150000
[PS4 - PSV] Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey (26 days) - 100000
[PS4] Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (24 days) - 220000
[PS4] PlayStation 4 Pro Hardware (18 days) - 100000
[3DS] Pokémon Sun / Moon (10 days) - 2500000
[PS4 - PSV] SD Gundam G Generation Genesis (6 days) - 60000

Might as well throw it here since many of the games come from Japan, but this is the state of fighting games (if its not on the list, it didn't even get near a million WW):

I think with the recent shipment info, we can pronounce SFV dead at the scene and put another scratch on the wall for Capcom.

Toukiden 2 received additional shipments at least for PS4 and PSV but I have the impression under Japan KT also includes rest Asian markets.

MHXX as a launch title on Switch makes so much sense that I'm scared it won't happen. It really, really should. I can't wait for the "Japan lines up for" thread.

SFV is on two systems and probably has a lot more unsold copies in retail than Pokken - Capcom def. expected more longterm from SF while Pokken did well enough and will likely return on Switch next year for some extra sales.

Koei Tecmo games are the only ones that usually (Toukiden and AOT excluded here) sell more on PS4 than on Vita. The Japanese fanbase has learned to stay away from their "efforts."

It's actually kinda crazy that Sun/Moon pre-orders will be less than ORAS when it's all said and done.
I was always wondering about this when people seemed incredibly positive about Sun & Moon going up from ORAS in Japan.

Going all in on production value and game quality increases seemed like it would pay off in spades overseas, but the perpetual garbage fire status of Japan's dedicated game industry seemed like it might be capable of knee capping something as large as Pokemon even if they bundled the title with potions of eternal youth.

If this was a 300K selling series instead, I would have been pretty willing to go all in on an increase though, since I think this kind of thing can still be quite meaningful domestically if you're not just being killed by total possible audience size.

I feel that for a franchise like Pokemon though, preorders are not in any way a substantial gauge of total market interest.

Well, historically the Musou fanbase always have prefered home consoles than handhelds.

A bit to soon to tell how SM will perform in the long run - i think higher production values were necessary so its easier to resell the game in HD on Switch next year. The health of the market doesnt have much to do with it - i dont think we ever expected more than 5m for any game on a 20m userbase. 3DS reached its ceiling sooner in Japan compared to western markets.

This week there are lots of releases, not really special though. SAO was very popular at Joshin and Sofmap. Sofmap, in fact, is helding an event related to Battlefield and Titanfall next weekend, and it seems there will be quite crowded.

Regarding Nintendo, Famicom Mini is actually everywhere. It seems retailers have now everything clear and are starting to push the advertisements every moment they can. Various amiibo were also re-stocked recently, it seems.

Numbers for Pokémon, one month from now. Sun and Moon, surely will help. There are bundles, almost with every kind of 3DS models. Holidays will be the key, though. We can't assure anything until week 52, imho.

I think we will see sooner than that whether it will hit 22m this year or not. Especially since Christmas is on a Sunday this year, so you have Dec. 26th to January 1st, where sales should drop more sharply than they did during the same week last year where Christmas and New Year were in the middle of their respective week.

I actually didn't think about that, and while Mario Run's long term goal is exactly that, could we see some old Mario games (like NSMB) come back in the chart in december/january? A bit like the Pokemon Go effect?

If there is an increase, it will be for NSMB2 (closest gameplay and graphics to SMR).

Edit: ha ha! Look what Nintendo just announced for Dec. 15th:

box.png

https://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/hardware/pack/newmario2/index.html

Nintendo released the Financial Results Briefing. This year they changed the format and I can't copy paste the photos.
Anyway, Miitopia is still announced as a 2016 big holiday title in Japan lol

I really wonder what warrants such secrecy, especially for something that's supposed to be a big holiday title. Depending on when it'll launch in December, we could be looking at a reveal > release cycle of roughly a month. Crazy.

Switch releasing in March 18th, quote me on that lol

Watch them release it on March 17th just to spite you :p

I just find it strange as to why they didn't just wait till the Jan 12th event to announce both versions if it was launching simultaneously with switch.

As hiska-kun pointed out, they're starting pre-orders on Nov. 10, and there's events to try out the game. The thing is, with a January release, they'd only have 3 months to promote the game, which is a bit short. It'd be ok just for a HD port (like MH3U was on Wii U), but not for a band new game (even a "G" version).

Well, historically the Musou fanbase always have prefered home consoles than handhelds.

No surprises here. The main appeal of the game is to slash your way through hordes of enemies, and the more enemies the better. Naturally, this is more easily achieved on home consoles. Not to mention that on small screen, a big number of enemies quickly look messy.

That i agree.^_^ Hoped that we will see more big expansion for the series here as i really had tons of fun with the game and i can see the potential there.(At least a proper expansion i believe can easily beat SFV number there.^^)

While i can see that but, the much bigger production value, Pokemon GO Effect, the anime being more popular due to Ash coming close beating the league, being the huge year for Pokemon Anniversary, i can't see it doing worst vs all the other Pokemon title.

Preorders compared to ORAS don't have many things to do with first week and LTD of SM, and even then I doubt it will have less preorders that that.

The barrier isn't outselling ORAS but XY.

Doesn't look like Double Cross is really planned on anything other than 3DS, which is why I expected. :p

On mobile so can't look in the link but apparently Capcom won't have any games at Switch launch?

Which means no Resident Evil, no Dead Rising and no Monster Hunter on Switch.

If that's the level of support from one of Nintendo's closest partners then the Switch is going to struggle at best and be dead on arrival at worst.

They release when the userbase is the highest and before 3DS falls in total irrelevancy. Then they'll try to make people double dip with an upscaled port for holiday period.
Most likely scenario for me.

Oregano is like the chosen members of Sony Defence Forse in here. Repeating the same all the time until he proves wrong.

The idea of launching a tentpole release on a system that's getting replaced on the very same month it is getting replaced seems crazy to me. They could do an HD port later to try and milk it, but they run the risk of causing franchise fatigue. MH4, MH4G, MHX and MHXX look very similar so I think capitalizing on a major hardware launch would be a great way to bring back excitement and start the transition of the 3DS MH audience to the Switch. Trying to milk it by releasing a late HD port seems like something Level-5 would do. Japan won't see a system launch that big for a good five years at least, so I think it would be wise to jump on the hype train.

Besides, and it may be a minor point in the grand scheme of things, but it seems to me like the Nintendo audience loves it when third parties show loyalty to Nintendo. I think Capcom got a lot of goodwill from Nintendo fans with the 3DS and being there from day one with the perfect launch game would be a great way to ensure that that relationship continues.

Yeah, because they were surely going to announce new projects for Switch in an investor meeting, complete with forecasts, when there's a clear embargo for third parties to do so, unless it's vague enough (see Nobunaga's Ambition).

My God Oregano, your jumping to conclusions. My. God.

Well Capcom stated they won't have any software for Switch at launch at today's investor meeting it seems. However they can always have a staggered release I guess..

If they told investors they don't have any titles for Switch launch then they don't. That's not jumping to conclusions.

I could have mentioned the MH5 on PS4 rumour if I was being silly

Well that seems very short sighted unless they strike gold with mobile, knee capping their most reliably profitable franchise by not supporting the visible successor for the platform their franchise is exclusive. Not like the 3DS isn't already haemoraging software sales. It's almost like they want to be irrelevant.

Edit:
Seems like exactly what you expect to happen is happening
