Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
The 3DS boost is due to MH3G pack + Black 3DS XL + probably anticipation for Animal Crossing.

It's nice to see PES 2013 for 3DS doing what PES 2012 did as LTD ( three weeks, from 49 to 52) in just a few days :p

So, the new MHtriG bundle sold 7k, and the new 3DS color probably sold 20K more or less (considering the big HW bump of 3DS total)?

yes, it should be that way

it's strange Famitsu does not include MH3G pack sales into the original SKU, so probably next week we'll get 2 different results for Animal Crossing

Shit, Vita. No other words for it by this point. This is an utterly embarrassing performance, and one that shows no sign of stopping. I expect it to be an utter irrelevance in the marketplace within a year.

3DS, on the other hand, is limbering up nicely for the big beasts of the next few weeks.

Keeping a consistent 20% drop it would be below Xbox 360 sales within 6 weeks.

It's still got a few releases left though that will cushion it and one would have to believe that it's final, no price drop, no mega huge game resting spot has to be comfortably ahead of the 360.

01./00. [PS3] Tales of Xillia 2 <RPG> (Bandai Namco Games) {2012.11.01} (¥8.380) - 331.533 / NEW

Tales of Xillia 2 opening is practically on par with other highly successful main Tales of entries like Tales of Rebirth (372.767) or Tales of the Abyss (368.316). It has also debuted with much better sales than Tales of Vesperia (227.506) and Tales of Graces f (219.921).

3DS outselling Vita 19 to 1. Is that a record?

...next week will be crazy (although Vita should get a decent boost the following week thanks to new colours).

What a mess! HAHA!

Yeah, I bet the guys over at Konami are jumping with joy.

Nope, but considering that they decided to do another episode despite the very bad results of the previous, I think that this should be enough nor even better than expected...

Famitsu only lists the price for the MH3G hardware bundle, which contains the download code, not a physical copy. It does not list the price for the "Best" version. Wonder if they're charting it as a different SKU or if it's combined but not listed by mistake. EDIT: Err... Just remembered the BEST was not released last week.

Media Create shows an increase in sales for MH3G, but with the same total. Since they don't discriminate like Famitsu and there have been plenty of bundles before, I have no idea of what exactly they are doing...

Basically: we don't know how many MHTriG were sold last week in Japan, neither how many 3DSXL MHTriG bundles.

Consoles are dead.

Following western (funny, to me) comments on how "portable gaming is going mobnile-only, I'd say that

CONSOLE GAMING IS GOING TABLET-ONLY OMG!!!!

EDIT:

But was last week released also the "The best" version of MHTriG game, or was only the bundle released? Because I remember that the dates for the two were different.

Yes, there's no Best version yet. I got confused about its release date.

Famitsu is tracking the bundle separately while Media Create is (almost certainly) adding sales together.

Ooh, now is clear. There was this misunderstanding, I think.
So basically we can say that for Famitsu the bundle sold 7K while MC doesn't give us the split for the HWs.
The "The best version" will be out in a couple of weeks.

Low PS3 sales in japan don't mean that consoles are dead there. We now for sure after Wii U Launch. But I think it will be quite successful and will have better sales than PS3.

Of course will have :/ ps3 is in the market from almost 7 years. In any case, released the new ps3 slim at higher price it has helped sony to achieve a new level of idiocy in its strategies. Congratulations to them.

I'll maintain hope for another year or so for Vita, will get a 3DS if things don't change by then.

The positive of Vita's demise or complete irrelevance I guess is it will be a PS2-like generation with pretty much 99% of the good stuff ending up on one system.

TOX2 did OK I guess. Although it is safe to say Vita is dead at this point, the first PV of TOHR looked very promising......

don't do this to me samusu

don't do it you hear me don't do it

I would think that Atlus has maximised its sales of Golden and they would be qute happy with their involvement with the Vita. I don't recall any other development commitments to the Vita and only one publishing commitment so besides having the highest rating game of all time, they were the biggest winners of the system?

Yay for Atlus! Use the money you gained from Golden for PAL localisation!

Well, Persona brand was present in the famous "E3 list" before 3DS launch, together with Devil Survivor (after we discovered it was Overclocked) and Shin Megami (we discovered it saw SMT 4), so it could happen.

Vita to be discontinued, and rebirth as Vita Phone. This is getting horrendous, can the stream cross with the Wii again?

The Vita situation is appalling.

Despite that though, id still buy one at the right price if I thought I knew what Sonys strategy for the system is.

One would think that if it did happen, a relation to the commitment made in that list would be somewhat minimal.

In saying that, that list was absolutely phenomenal in driving hype. Even with the sagacity derived from having some of those dreams crushed, if E32012 featured a similar confirmation of "interested projects" for the Wii U, I would have been absolutely thrilled. =P

They making a bigger profit on each unit sold is a idiotic strategy? I may not like it as a consumer but it makes business sense for them to chase a greater profit at a lower cost.
