Miiverse on 3DS coming in system update next month

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
Well now I can share stuff about New Leaf without having to move an SD card from one system to another and using a specialist app.

You can recover that account on your 3DS and it should work on both platforms, based on what they said in the direct. They haven't said how, though.
But if/when he ever buys a Wii U again, he likely won't be able to link his 3DS to it if he uses the "SmokeyDave" moniker for his 3DS. Best to make up a new NNID for 3DS in case he ever decides to get a Wii U again.

Hell yeah. Finally we should be able to meet online friends solely through the 3DS's online and not from an outside source like Neogaf. Hopefully we can add 3DS system friends directly from Miiverse just like we can on Wii U.

what really ? Well sorry I'm stupid then :p

I never log into anything when I buy from the e-shop though... Did I miss something ?
I think he means for the Wii U. 3DS eShop purchases are tied to your hardware and there's no external account system like with NNID, but those purchases are logged to Nintendo's servers, so that is how people can get Nintendo to recover them when they lose their 3DS. They should be able to merge the old system into the new one through a firmware update and user setup if they want to implement that.

This should also mean they're raising the friend limit, since I have more than 100 if I combine my WiiU and 3DS lists.

You can recover accounts from the cloud to use on the Wii U, though. Since he can still log in to the browser interface I'm sure he'd be able to use it if he ever got another.

Nintendo Letterbox will be deleted immediately.
It's fate was sealed after MiiVerse was announced, and its soul condemned as soon as it was an built-it icon.

I thought its fate was sealed when Nintendo stopped the service 2 weeks ago.

I spent too much time trying to gather all those extra stationary! I will keep it.

I noticed there's no icon for messages. If there's no way to directly message friends i'm gonna be so disappointed.

It looks like Miiverse is properly integrated which is great. Plus smart that there is an offline mode so you can compose posts while away from wifi access. Kind of important for being able to take screenshots of games when you need to.

The Miiverse private messaging system is pretty good actually - for those without a Wii U, your PMs are kept together in a list, and your conversation with each friend is expandable into a timeline of messages.

Now the question is which games will be updated to fully support Miiverse. And thus get Miiverse communities. I wonder if the mock-up screens represent real supported titles.

Implication no.1 : They managed to squeeze Miiverse functionalities in the twenty odd megabytes of OS-reserved RAM? Good job

Implication no.2 : Games like Mario Kart and Pokémon X/Y getting patches to substitute Friend Codes with NNIDs? Really hope so

I hope it isn't going to be as stupid as some of those Miiverse posts I've seen posted here at times.[/QUOTE]

This pleases me greatly.

The screenshot functionality is what I'm looking forward to the second-most. The first is regaining what we lost with SwapNote.

unlikely, it doesn't work this way on Wii U currently

maybe someday?

Actually it does but your account can only be registered to 1 device and you can't deregister yourself. So your Wii U dies, you call Nintendo they deregister it and you simply log into you NNID on the new Wii U and it will have access to them.

Doesn't mean 3DS will even after the update though as it seems there's more work to do to migrate off the old system.

Oh please let this be true! Ever since Pokémon came out, I've been having to delete a friend every time I want to add a new one.

I've been waiting for a good screenshot tool for so long.

And now I will enter the Kid Icarus Uprising community and try to gather the remaining competitive players.

Hmmm. I had the NNID 'SmokyDave' on my Wii U. I deleted it when I sold it. I wonder if that means I can never have the name on my 3DS?

I'm going to guess that's exactly what it means. Bummer.

Why did you sell your Wii U!?

Anyway, when you say delete you mean deactivate or "unlink" from the console, I don't know why but I think it has the two options.

If anything, you could go to miiverse.nintendo.com and try your login to see if it's active.
