I'm not the biggest baseball/sports fan, but I loved MVP 05. Is this a good game to pick up? I played The Show 09, but hated the Road To The Show objectives. Do you guys think it will be worth a go?

You can just ignore RttS and do franchise, exhibition and online matches. Course the real selling point is being able to move Doc back to the Jays.

I got this. First sports game I've bought in 10 years.

Now I need to learn how to play sports games.

Hint: I know doing a Dragon Punch will not help you hit curveball.
(you have to do Raging Storm instead! ^_^)

Where did you grab it?

That image with people trying to catch the homerun is amazing!!!

Someone has played the PSP versions? I don't own a PS3, neither a PSP, but my brothers owns one. So I wanna try it.

I need a PS3 (u_u)

Yeaaa, tks...

BTW... I have a question... how is the batting in this game? It is only time based, o you must "aim"?

I'm a big fan of Power Pros, and that's the best thing about that game. But in reviews and articles, I've seen other things I like about the Show.

So, what do you think? It has enough strategy and excitemente?

I really should just get both. The amount of hours you can pour into this game easily justify a double-dip. But damn, if I could just import my progress from the PSP game into the PS3 game, that would be perfect. Play a game on the train, get home, sync my PSP and update the results, play the next game on the PS3. Is that too much to ask, damnit?

Online had a big focus this year I believe a blog post said (a mere month ago, PS.Blog).

It better have. There's no reason for the game to be almost unplayable online. This is the last chance I'm going to give the online before I'm done with the game.

Even when it wasn't laggy, assholes would rate you poorly after you beat them 11-0. :lol

Last years was no where near unplayable. 08? Absolutely but 09 was greatly improved.

I agree 09 was improved...but there were still times when the game was unplayable

Exactly. It would lag during the pitching, batting, and fielding animations. I wasn't playing random people either. These were friends with reliable connections that live no further than 10-15 min away.

I'm still probably buying it, but the online really is a dealbreaker. It was just awful and unplayable...

Cannot wait for this. It is still the only sports game ever to actually have my last name and pronounce it correctly. I <3 the show.

That was probably my most memorable moment when I played 09. Even having your own custom walk-up music and home run music was amazing.

I tell people this and they just don't get it. I played tons of games online in MLB09 through my laptop's wireless connection and only had problems a very small fraction of the time.

Is there work to be done? Of course. The game though still is playable and ton of fun.

Man, I thank God I was able to play seamless games with my friend in St. Louis then because apparently only by his hand was it possible.

I will say that when I was on a wireless connection it was unstable though. Wired through a relatively shitty DSL in rural Indiana I had zero problems, so it seems strange others were having problems with non-randoms. Take an hour to stop downloading porn is my advice.

Loved 08, skipped 09, fully prepared to pick this up.

Call me crazy, but I didn't buy a PS3 for MGS4, Killzone, Uncharted, or any of that other stuff. I came for the Show.

Skipped 09! For shame! Luckily, redemption is on its way!

Same, but I bought a PS3 for The Show before those games came out though

To tell the truth, I can't remember why I didn't buy 09. I'm not sure if I was too busy, too content with 08, or just not feeling baseball at the time.

I do remember hearing from some people that hitting in 09 is inordinately tough. My hitting prowess is questionable to begin with, so I hope this isn't a problem with 10. With a few tweaks, I was able to hit the cover off the ball in 08.

I do think some of the issues in MLB online is with wireless. I'm hoping this is fixed for MLB 10. After I moved this past fall I can't hook up my PS3 anymore wired. I have to use wireless now. The new network guru is hopefully good at his job.

Wireless is an issue with fighters as well, so I would not be surprised at all.

Listening to Torgo's podcast PSnation, we can now save the end of game highlight reel, if you let the highlights play until they conclude you can save them onto your HDD, in addition to that you can string 10 replays together for movie maker.

Yes! I'll totally take lag wins when Parra is on the mound!

Demo info:
"I am not sure what purpose would be served by misleading you. We said there will be a demo....and there will be a demo. The simple fact is....The demo HAS been completed....the demo HAS been submitted for approval and posting. We, as devs of the game, have absolutely ZERO control as to when it gets approved or posted."
"Just saw this there is no demo today or one before release."

Saw that Fry's has it already in one of their cages. Wonder if its possible to convince someone who doesn't know any better to sell it =)

I bought a PS3 to play the Show. The only games I have for it are the show 08 and 09. The show is probably the biggest advantage the PS3 has considering how terrible the 2k series is.
