Shinnok, Liu Kang and MK2 style Shang Tsung would be perfect news for me.

I really wouldn't mind seeing some more new characters but I doubt if it would be done in this style with this announcement, seeing as people seem to think multiple characters may be shown today. Two more new characters in general would be perfect tho, which would take the total to what, 5? That would be nice.

On the topic of the possible reveal, hell yes. I think it's safe to say that Mortal Kombat has the best story out there for fighting game fans, and had an incredibly enjoyable story mode in MK9. Can't wait to see what to expect in April.
