Still a great game, just not their best.*cough* Uncharted 3 *cough*
*cough* Uncharted 3 *cough*
Sony really want Naughty Dog to remain exclusive.
Fixed.Uncharted 3 is another testament to this as well.
uc3>uc2.
Everyone is so harsh on Uncharted 3 due to expectations after 2, but it's still a damn fine experience with a lot of very good content within. It's very well made and doesn't deserve half the shit it receives.*cough* Uncharted 3 *cough*
I just wrote up some notes on Neil Druckmann's keynote here in Toronto, about the story development for The Last of Us. It's in the community thread because there were tons of spoilers.
One non-spoiler point: during the Q&A, he stated that the Sony execs gave absolutely NO creative notes for The Last of Us. That's how much they trust ND.

UC3 was a letdown IMO

Yeah, they really want a first party studio to remain first party, lol.
Sony owns Naughty Dog.
Naughty Dog is Sony, ever since the PS2.
Sony owns Naughty Dog, literally.
They own ND...
The bought ND over a decade ago.
well......
I know right, just like how Nintendo really wants Retro to remain exclusive or how the same applies for 343i on MS' end. :x
They cant leave
You do realize now how stupid that is, right?
As if they could say/do otherwise, they're owned by Sony afterall.
Ignoring that Sony own them...
Well they own them, so...
No, they bought Naughty Dog shortly before the release of the original Jak and Daxter (2001).
Nope...Naughty Dog is a part of Sony, just like Sucker Punch, SCE Santa Monica, SCE Japan Studio, SCEA, SCEJ/A, SCEE...you get the picture.
They can't do anything without Sony's permission.
Naughty Dog is fully owned by Sony
Naughty Dog IS Sony.
...
They own Naughty Dog.
well they are first party.
Crash Bandicoot is Activision IP.Does this mean we get a decent Jak and Dexter game and a return to Crash Bandicoot or is it all out gritty shoot bang movie games from here on in?

I'd more readily grant it a 10 than many other 10/10 games that I've played. Nothing any more disappointing about it than the previous 2 games. It also almost certainly didn't deserve the 10/10s it got either. I agree it's a good game, although disappointing with a number of bad decisions and rushed to launch.
The Last of Us 2 better be fucking awesome.

Would love a new platformer from them entirely. Or a "fun" game at least. Something along the lines of Knack but better.
My man. Favorite of the series hands down.uc3>uc2.
I always thought it was franchise fatigue. I don't see how it was that much different from 1 or 2. It was just the same stuff again and that's why I don't think an Uncharted 4 would be received well. I really hope they move on.
I bet it's a whole new IP. New console.........new IP......only makes sense.
They should have pushed a new Crash Bandicoot instead of Knack for launch. Would have been huge.
Based on LinkedIn's, Naughty Dog has around 270 employees at the moment. Not all are necessarily developers and some are in ICE instead of the game development team, but that matches with the approximation that each core team of ND is around 100-130 people.
Thank you for the link and reply. Appreciated
Agreed. The big fast pool available on PS4 should help devs realise ambitious projects that they may not have been able to bring to the current generation. Great times ahead for gamers. No, but they struggled a lot with cramming TLOU into PS3 memory pool. I'm sure they will be very happy with PS4.
uc3>uc2.
I'm hoping that the financial success of TLOU has given them/Sony the confidence that a new IP from Naughty Dog for PS4 would be just as lucrative as doing an Uncharted 4.
As much as I enjoyed the series, I feel like it has run its course, and I'd much rather see their talents used on something entirely new. A PS4 Uncharted would look fantastic, but do we really need more of that? Any game they make for PS4 will look fantastic.
Yes, but early on Sony needs system sellers. It will be hard decision to pick how much to ignore franchises from previous generations. God of War will most likely go on ice for a few years, but new adventure of Drake will be much better welcomed.
This game is unfairly shat upon. I just beat Uncharted 3 for the first time and it's not perfect, but it is still a fantastic game. It's better than Uncharted 1 and a step below Uncharted 2.

Don't see how it can be franchise fatigue when UC3 went on to sell even more \ faster than UC2 if i remember right .
I would say what happen to GOW and GeOW is franchise fatigue .
Still the expectations for UC3 were just to big after UC2 so while UC3 was not a bad game it did not live up to 2 or surpass it .
I am hoping for 1 more UC and i feel PS4 can bring new life into the series .
