New songs every season

The worst thing about sports games are the repetitive soundtracks that really being to grate after a couple of months – or hours, in the case of Madden NFL 21. NBA 2K22 will seek to solve this problem by introducing a constantly evolving soundtrack, where new songs will be added on the first Friday of each season.

“NBA 2K has become a global platform for music discovery and that continues with NBA 2K22,” said series marketing bigwig Alfie Brody. “This year, we are creating a dynamic soundtrack, complete with early access to unreleased tracks, new artists, and opportunities for fans to become part of the experience and solidify their place in video game history.”

2K Sports will license a mixture of high-profile artists and up-and-coming stars, and it hopes the latter will help “support music discovery and growth”. Some of the names already on board include Aitch, Freddie Gibbs, Gunna, Megan Thee Stallion, Metro Boomin, Saweetie, Skepta, Smino, Travis Scott, and many more.

The company will also allow budding producers to feature in the game, by releasing beats that the community can record their best verses over. Remember, this year’s MyCareer will include side-activities, such as the ability to work as a record producer. It’s all part of NBA 2K22 trying to tap into the culture of basketball alongside the sport itself.

Have they mentioned what they're going to do with the shot meter? Will they give us the option this season to go back to the old shot meter? Because the shot meter they introduced in 2k21 is fucking garbage. I don't like spending years perfecting timing on a shot meter, and then have them throw a complete curveball with one that is crazy hard to get right.

You don't actually get a game disc with this new version, instead they ship you a pachinko machine which you play the "game" on.
