Hmm, so how come when i search for neo galactic adventure force, it finds nothing in groups ?
Oh i see, anyway making my way to Apam Napat, i am only a few jumps away, about 100 ly
Arrived in Majida with one of my ships.
Man I've Not seen you about since we were playing ogame?
'Holy shit was that intense, got back to home base with 2 % integrity and 8 seconds left of atmosphere xD
Interesting
We gotta put in work! Ran some missions last night but was too low rep for the vast majority
EDIT: Wait, isn't every faction in your screen losing influence...? Bug?

The original was >100% total. This seems to be a correction. We are the most influential but we need more!
We don't have a black market

Hey guys, just made my way to Apam Napat to join you all. CMDR Lucen Tarken reporting in, please don't blow my Vulture up
How do I gain allied status with your faction?
That's what I thought, but right now the total is ~96% and it still shows everyone losing influence. Weird.
For whatever reason Majida is now an anarchy station, anything goes I guess?
Thanks a lot! I only managed to log in once and didn't get to play much Elite since...
Mh, where can we see this faction description? That's Frontier's narration, not ours I believe? Although we can of course run with it.
My personal goal is to gain a Sol permit. That's why I'm sticking around in Federal space so far. Once I have that, I'll be relocating to Apam Napat.

Yeah, I noticed that this weekend. I took a break from mining up around Neville Horizons for the Pleiads Station CG and flew back down to Apam Napat to do a bit of bounty hunting. Last week I went hunting wanted ships in Apam Napat and everything was normal, but on Saturday the our system was now an anarchy system where every ship is now considered lawless, so I had to kill warrant scan every ship to determine if they had bounties on them or not. Not sure what happened but it seems like Apam Napat is in some turmoil.
I'm also getting damned frustrated that every time I check, there are barely any NeoGAF missions that I can get because I'm still low rank, and even then, there haven't been many compared to other factions. There are supposed to be more missions for the more dominant faction, dammit.
Cross-posting from the ED thread:
Anyone listens to Radio Sidewinder?
http://www.radiosidewinder.com/
I have been playing it for the last two hours while playing the game and it gets you into the universe so much more, it's pretty great. Right now I have it playing on my iphone sitting next to the thruster but I would like to be able to use a button from my HOTAS to turn the stream on and off. They have a bunch of advertising for in-universe stuff, as well as factions and things, also random jingles, public service announcements, music (usually 1 song or 2, with ads and PSAs in between) and galnet news reading. The overall quality is pretty good, but the reason I'm posting here is because we could put an ad (from 30secs to 1:30 min) for the GAF faction.

They have a few rules, but all make sense and are reasonable. What do you guys think? I think it would be pretty cool to be flying around and listening to some advertising for Neo Galactic Adventure Force! We have lots of people with nice voice here on GAF, though I don't know if any is into this game. Some nice voice, cool public domain music (or we make something that becomes public domain, anyway) and maybe a couple version of the ad (shorter and longer) and let the guy managing to decide and/or play both at different timings could be neat.
What do you guys think?
I see this thread's gone pretty quiet! Shall we kick it off again?
This thread is pretty much asleep, but let's see what use this will have.
Interesting that they were talking about social media uses, it'll be interesting to see what they are planning...

Here's a list showing what generates influence with a specific faction. Trading might raise the influence more than missions given that the player has a large cargo.[citation needed] The missions on the Bulletin Board vary in effects by completing them, some missions with alternative routes may give the opposite results.
To increase a faction's influence players should focus on performing the following tasks:
Completing missions for a faction,
Trading with faction owned stations or outposts,
Turning in bounty vouchers,[9]
Turning in combat bonds and,[10]
Selling exploration data,[11]
For those wanting to get a minority faction into power there's a valid strategy to decrease the influence of the leading faction by performing any actions from the following list:
Completing a mission's alternate option given through Unidentified Signal Sources
Abandoning or failing missions accepted from a specific faction
Doing charity missions (this shows the faction is weak to the other factions)[citation needed]
Unlike regular missions, Charity Missions denote that a faction is weak compared to other factions and require donations. These missions are denoted by a hand icon with a medical cross and often reward reputation gains but no monetary reward.
Bounty Hunting within a system will reward influence to the controlling faction. This is good if you're attempting to strengthen the dominant faction within a system. However, if you're attempting to improve the influence of a smaller party this will prove to work against you.
Not sure how it happend but we are now also in the neighboring Lorden system (actually have the highest influence there as well).
From what I understand apam napat has or used to have some decent extraction zones so maybe random people have been turning in bounties there and are growing the faction.
Edit; sorry, we actually have the second highest influence at Lorden.
Wow, really? Maybe all of those missions I did actually had some effect afterall, LOL!
Yeah, I turned in a lot of exploration data to Apam Napat too, wonder if that had something to do with it...
Galactic Academy
We’ve been considering a new initiative to help and support new users into the game. The program is called the Galactic Academy and the aim is to support new players into the basis of the game and find a community that’s right for them.
The initial thought process is to have a new user team speak and a set of Ambassador/Tutors that help support these players into the game. Showing the real basics such as landing ships, using the galaxy map and so on. In addition we would like to consider this an opportunity to have prominent groups have recruitment officers in the chat too, allowing players to find a group to get involved in. As I’m sure we will all agree playing with a group of other players can really expand the experience for a lot of players. We would like to also connect people with the player made and official tutorials. ESS have been running a Galactic Academy as a division of their group for a while and have kindly offered to support the program and we’d love it if more groups and individuals were able to help too.
I’m hoping to have this go out to all new and inexperienced players and continue to be an ongoing project, meaning all new players to the game will get an invitation to join in. Hopefully this will be a really great way to help find new community members for your groups too.
In addition to this we are considering further “Specialists” in specific areas to help people learn the ropes. For example, Powerplay, Minor factions/BGS/ Trading, PVP etc. However, this is likely to come at a second phase.
If you would like to register your interest to be a part of the program when we launch then please reply back to me directly with the email addresses of the people that would like to take part (personal emails), commander names and any other details. For example, would you like to be an ambassador/tutor, a specialist, offer recruitment officers or help the initiative in some other way. Let us know, and we will be back in touch with more information shortly.
Was doing a few missions in apam napat yesterday and looks like the influence went up by 1% from 46 to 47%.
Edit: does anyone actually know why our system is in Anarchy when the leading minor faction is aligned with the Empire?
What started out as a government bound association grew into an independent organization however. In 3296 the Galactic Adventure Force's leaders decided that it had distanced itself too far from the government, took up the name Neo Galactic Adventure Force and declared its independence.
It won't have anything to do with this part of our description, would it?
Boom: We haven't found a truly useful purpose for boom yet; however, some player groups suspect that in can be used to upgrade your shipyard and outfitting, though I haven't seen conclusive evidence for this. The readily apparent effect that Boom does have is on the commodity market, boosting profits by about ten percent. As profit is made from this boost, it subtracts from a "Boom Value" and once that is spent the boom will end, otherwise the Boom can last up to 4 weeks. While this lasts, trade missions and actions contribute twice as much to influence change in the system.
When in boom, the wealth of a system is increased for the duration and all trade missions have double the effect on influence. Boom can also positively increase a minor faction's influence. Boom can be entered by consistent trade profits and completed trade contracts. Booms tend to last until they naturally expire or until some other indicator takes precedence, such as famine.
Blimey, I didn't know this thread existed or that there were player created factions in the game. I'm running missions in Empire space anyway, so I'll relocate here.
