It is indeed a Filson 256- usually sells for around $225 (but lasts decades).

Links and price, please. I first saw this movie 20 years ago and have had many versions of it over the years. None were as good as the original VHS version I copied (multiple tapes) from the local video store. The subtitles were way better than the DVD versions I bought later. It's really such a brilliant and beautiful film. So glad to see other long-time fans.

Congrats! Be prepared for massive backlog if you already don't have one. =)
I got it for ¥12,000 but the regular retail price is around 15500. No subtitles in either english or japanese, but the new transfer is astounding (especially the last 2 episodes) and it even has brand new science lesson omake clips with new dialogue and animation. Worth every penny. Gunbuster is one of my favorite shows of all time!

I'm just using an Astro Mixamp at the moment, not terribly familiar with the territory but I think it gets the job done quite well. May pick up a mobile amp for a roadtrip in june.
