Kill for Love turned out pretty well, so if he needs to destroy the entire thing and redo the entire recording because he's a loony artist and thinks it will turn out better then whatever. I can wait.

Think the success of the first two records and the hype from Tick of the Clock in Drive may have drove him crazy. Just feels like he went off the rails post-Kill For Love.

edit|: lol man just thinking about it more that really is crazy. They're a pretty small label, so all that product just being destroyed probably really hurt them. Unreal. Have to wonder if that's the whole story, though. How did he destroy 25,000 records without anyone intervening?

Mac is probably my favorite musician going right now and after one listen (in the car on the highway so not the best environment) and it didn't totally grab me like all his other releases. I can't wait to give it more replays though. "My Old Man" is a top 10 Mac track for me.

Yeah I could see that.

Listened to it twice now and I will say that it's growing on me a little. Still miss his usual electric guitar tones, but some of these melodies are just perfect. Baby You're Out and One More Love Song are my two favourite so far.

Saw New Pornographers and Waxahatchee last night.

New Pornographers were great, loved their set, but I really, really liked Waxahatchee. It was just the lead singer on guitar and her bassist, no drums or anything else and it was wonderful . They played a couple of new songs also, which sounded great!

Saw Slowdive and Japanese Breakfast last night in Brooklyn. Been a big fan of Slowdive for years, so that was a treat. However, I had never heard Japanese Breakfast before and was really impressed. Gonna give their stuff a listen and looking forward to the new album.
