Set Flow

In your initial PM, please give your opponent the stage you would like to use if you lose the first or second matches. That stage should be picked by both users. You can choose to pic your counterpick stage after your first match if both players are active in the IRC.

Match 1: Smashville
Match 2: Stage picked by loser of Match 1.
Match 3 (if required): Stage picked by loser of Match 2.


Both players must turn items off and select the chosen stages. Brawl's online randomly chooses one players settings.

Tournament Format:

This tournament will be composed of two stages.

Stage one:
The 40 participants who are already signed up have been broken down into 8 groups of 5 people. Which group you were placed into was based off of your seed, which we obtained from the results of singles tournament #1. Which Group you belong to is posted below.

For this stage in the tournament, you will play each member in your group in a best of 3 match. The settings and counter picking method are explained above. The two players within each group with the best records after every game has been played, will move on to the championship bracket. To get a better idea of how this will work read here.

Stage Two:
The top two records in each group will move on to a 16 man double elimination Championship bracket. In this stage, the starting Neutral stage will be chosen before each Round is played. All other settings remain the same. You can view either our Teams #1 Bracket or our Giant Singles #1 Bracket to see how this will work.

The 3 players in each group who don't make it to the championship bracket will move on to a 24 man Double Elimination bracket. This is purely a bragging rights/ future seedings bracket.

For the championship round in Both the Championship Bracket and Bragging Rights Bracket, the matches will be played best 3 of 5 instead of best 2 of 3. In the event the loser's bracket champion wins the first championship round, a second round must be played and the winner of that round will be crowned Champion.


Posting Results:
The OP will be updated with the current standings within each group. After your match is played, one person from the match should come in here and post the results. Include who won each round, characters used and counterpick stages in your results.

For Example:

Since the starting stage is known you only need to list the counter picked stages.



Communication:

We will be using the same PM system we did for Tourney #1, it helps us keep track of participation. You should PM each member in your group with the times you will be available to play, and your counterpick stage. Post in this thread when you have PM'd the other members in your group and when you receive another's PM.

Its also encouraged you use our irc channel (#Gaf_WFC on GlobalGamers.net) to coordinate matches and to wait for your opponent to get online at your scheduled times. If you both plan on using the irc to communicate for the fight, you do not need to send your Counter Pick stage through PM. Though it should be mentioned in your opening PM whether you want to use the irc or not.


To use IRC:

Go to http://mibbit.com/.
Click on the drop tab and select GlobalGamers.net (half way down the list)
Enter "#Gaf_WFC" in the channel section
Choose a Nick
Click Connect and wait a second for it to start.

Think we'll be tossing him in group 2 so have him play whoever in there. If omega drops he fills in and if not...we have one extra in group 2, which shouldn't be too much of a problem except last place might have to get dropped in that group from the pride bracket as well. And if someone else happens to drop later on and omega comes back, then we could null whatever matches he already played and move him to whatever group has the real drop. I figure just give him the head start now for a likely drop and worst case scenario some people get a couple extra games of practice in.

So yea just say he's in group #2 now and go from there.

It was laggy for me, but the 2 aftermatch games were awfully laggy with framedrops and all. In fact I was gonna suggest that anyone who faces me host one and I host another one... or something like that, since many are having lag problems with me. It's weird though, I faced some guys from the UK and they were practically lagless, and many more from Smashboards, but I only have lag with GAF players, wtf :lol Stupid broken online code.

And hey Icana, Ike is a beast with lag =O.
